How much time do you spend recycling the moments of your day, second-guessing yourself or overthinking ordinary conversations? I was someone who at the end of each day would lay in bed going over the events of the day analyzing everything death.! That is until I realized this.
Our thoughts are constantly changing.; shifting perspectives from negative to positive and vice-versa. Some philosophers have suggested that we exist in a state of flux. Meaning that our thoughts and ideas are always shifting from one perspective to another.
One moment you may think of someone in a negative aspect and the next, it’s changed for the better. So all the more reason to never care about what other people think of you because really it doesn’t matter anyway.
1. Speak Your Truth
Be confident and comfortable speaking your own truth. What is true to you, is the truth in flux. Live in alignment with your soul and honour and respect what your heart desires, even if it means rejecting the approval of those around you.
2. The Mirror Effect
Know deep down that the opinions and judgements of others are more about themselves than they are about you. Embrace this and understand that the opinion you have of yourself, is the one the matters most. Hold yourself to your own standard and don’t be afraid to show it.
3. You’re Worth Isn’t Measured by Your Wealth
Your possessions don’t define you. What you have, isn’t who you are and no amount of wealth could ever bring you true happiness. True wealth is measured by the things in which you would never take money for, Others who feel the same way you do are your tribe value those people for they are priceless.
4. Just Do You! Plain and Simple
It’s impossible to please everyone, and life’s way too short to even try! Make a point to live a balanced and harmonious life and know that true joy comes first from within.
5. Make Your Own Path
Don’t follow the pack or go along with everyone around you– just to be agreeable. You are the only one who can live your life. Understand that when you go along with the crowd you and only you will be stuck with the end result.
“When you’re comfortable and content with who you are, the voices of others who try and define, control or direct you are not important.” Rachel Robins
