6 Surprising Benefits of Crying (or Why It’s So Important to Have a Good Cry)

6 Surprising Benefits of Crying (or Why It's So Important to Have a Good Cry)

When was the last time you had a good cry? Most folks see watery eyes as a sign of emotional weakness, however, confronting your emotions requires a great deal of strength in the form of personal vulnerability.

Amidst a continuous stream of salty tears slowly sliding down our check, making our eyes puffy and temporary blurring our vision, do you ever wonder what emotional or physical benefits this suspended state of helplessness could have on our delicate and fragile physic?

Well, grab a tissue if you have to and read on to learn some surprising benefits of crying.

1.Crying Releases Toxins

Crying is known to have both physical and mental cleansing effect. The tears that are produced by stress aid the body in getting rid of the stress hormone known as cortisol.

Just like other exocrine processes like urinating, exhaling, sweating, toxic substances are released from the body when we cry. Pain reducing protein prolactin, adrenocorticotropic hormones, and the endorphin leucine-enkephalin are the major chemicals present in emotional tears.

2. Crying Improves Vision

It has been confirmed that tears made by the lacrimal gland can clear up our vision by lubrication the eyelids and eyeballs. Vision can become a little blurry when the membranes of the eyes are dehydrated.

Tears bathe the surface of the eyes which keep it moist by washing away debris and dust. Crying can also guide against the dehydration of various mucous membrane.

3. Anti Bacteria

Crying can also be a good way to get rid of bacteria. Tears are known to contain lysozyme- a fluid also found in semen, human milk, saliva, and mucus that kills almost 90 percent of all type of bacteria within 10 minutes.

Studies have also shown that strong antimicrobial powers can also protect against intentional anthrax contamination. Lysozyme can kill some bacteria by completely destroying their cell walls the rigid outer shell that is known to provide a protective coating.

4. Mood Improvement

Tears can improve our mood better than any current antidepressant available in the market.

A study in 2008 from the University of South Florida discovers that crying can be self-soothing and elevate the mood better than any antidepressant in some cases. The shedding of tear can dramatically improve the mood of over 90 percent of all cries compared to just eight percent who reported feeling worse after crying. Individuals with an anxiety disorder were less likely to experience any positive effects after crying.

5. Relieves Stress

Even if circumstances still remain the same, a good cry can provide a feeling of relieve. Crying is general known to release stress hormone or toxins from the body which can significantly reduce tension.

It is generally believed that crying is a better alternative to punching the wall. Crying is a safe and effective way to deal with stress as it provides an emotional release of pent-up negative feeling, frustration and stresses.

6. Communication Boost

Crying can convey what words cannot express, most especially in a relationship.  This is mostly obvious when a person in the relationship is having a different reaction to a situation that isn’t too transparent until tears begin to show. It is at the very moment one person burst into tears that conversation shifts towards the emotional aspect. Crying can quell a fight and emphasize points not conveyed in words or simply underscore the significance of the feeling behind the dialogue.

In conclusion, a good cry can naturally heal us both psychologically and physiologically.

3 Ancient Healing Techniques Anyone Can Do

by LJ Vanier| Myth#1 Only “special” people can heal people

Myth#2 You must be a “spiritual guru” to have the ability to heal

Myth #3 Healing abilities only come with hours of daily meditation

We all seem to be indoctrinated with the idea that in order to be a healer you must first go through rigorous training, classes and endless hours of meditation.

Which is simply a falsehood.

For example.

My husband and I were in Mexico in 2009 and he was smoking heavy cigars enjoy the delights of the foreign tobacco, when he began complaining about his lungs. (go figure right). And as we were lying in bed and he is telling me of this I instinctively placed my hand over his lungs and began pulling with my fingertips what I saw as black or dark heavy energy.

To both of our surprise the next morning he woke up and was astonished that his lungs showed a 100% improvement. He felt like he hadn’t had any of those cigars he had been smoking that week. Now it can be argued that his healing was due to the 8-9 hours of sleep he had without smoking allowing his lungs to rest, but for the simple fact that he had experienced the problem for a few days prior to the healing done, we know it worked.

Here is where it gets interesting!

About a month ago a Master of Qi Gong came to the city where I live and so I decided to give it a go. The class was a 7 day course and in this course we learned how to collect Qi – chi energy, open the meridians but most of all how to heal.

Now you might be thinking, “you said we don’t need classes to be a healer” — exactly, get this!

These are the three methods we learned.

3 Ancient Healing Techniques Anyone Can Do.

1. Immortal Hand

Using your energy with your hand “put your hand inside the body and remove the energy, pull it out with the tips of your fingers and throw the dark (dirty) energy back into the earth to be alchemized.

2. Magic Palm

Place your hands flat together, and rub your palms vigorously to ignite the Qi. Place your hands on the affected area of the body for 20 minutes up to an hour. ( use this method for non-serious injury) do not use for treating cancer this method will spread it. If you feel a cool temperature on your patients body stop and immediately return to 1. Immortals hand.

3. Immortals Hand Return Spring

This healing technique is for the entire body. It is to be done with the patient lying down. Take your hands and make them flat, move from the top of the head down to the feet slowly using your chi energy to clear the entire body of negative or dark energy. Do this as many times as you feel needed 10 minimum. In your last pass, stop at the sacral chakra area and give the patient chi energy by directing it into their body, through this vortex.

The effects of each treatment will depend on your own personal level of Qi,” the higher the Qi the better the healing”.

Water and the Cycle of Life Feng Shui

water and the cycle of life

The spiritual connection to the physical world is about harnessing the positive energy that surrounds us through the ancient Chinese art of placement, arrangement and connectivity known as Feng shui (pronounced “fung schwee”). Feng shui literally means “wind and water” in Chinese. The connective flux or the constant state of change between all five elements—fire, earth, water, wood, and metal—urges us to be in balance and in harmony with nature. There is no greater pathway of least resistance to this invisible energy that is constantly circulating, or ch’i (pronounced chee) than through flowing water. To begin by incorporating water into your environment in a harmonious way, it can bring balance into your life.

The placement of water and other elemental materials attracts ch’i. While ch’i does tend to gather in certain places, the proper circulation of ch’i may become obstructed or unbalanced in the places where we live, or the areas of a home or office. Then we may experience the adverse effects in many ways. For instance, relationships with other people may be unfulfilling, health may become impaired, or our finances may suffer. There are many different ways to improve ch’i, and one of the best and easiest ways to introduce the principles of Feng shui into your life is with the addition of water.

Generally speaking, water features are used to stimulate or create wealth or prosperity. Beyond the financial representation itself, richness in the value of life itself is also considered prosperous. Water is represented by several elements in the home such as the colors of black (in the West, black symbolizes seriousness, formality, and wisdom; is also used to increase mental activity and communication) and dark blue (reminds us of nature and conveys a sense of serenity; symbolizes seriousness and dignity). Also representative of water are glass materials, wavy and irregular shapes (symbolizes flexibility, interaction, and adaptability), as well as some household objects: sinks, tubs, toilets, faucets, aquariums, pools, glass items, and plumbing. These colors, materials, and shapes all can be linked with one element or another. It’s important to stress that one element should not dominate over the others. For example, too much fire in a room can cause tension and instability.

In order to understand how water may create prosperity, it’s important to understand the cycles of how the five elements interact to bring balance and harmony. The first cycle is the productive cycle, which is the nurturing cycle where one element produces the next one. The help of this cycle is taken to enhance the positive areas of your home. For instance, fire burns and produces ash (earth) then earth produces metal in its bowels. Metal when heated flows like water and water nourishes wood then wood is the fuel for fire. In the next cycle, the controlling cycle, one element controls the next element. For instance, fire melts metal and metal (axe) cuts wood. Wood then controls earth with its roots and earth restricts the flow of water then water extinguishes fire. Finally, in the weakening cycle, it is exactly the reverse of the productive cycle. If an element produces another element, the former gets weakened in the process. For instance, fire burns wood and wood soaks up all the water. Then water takes strength from metal and metal is extracted from the earth in which earth (ash) is produced from fire.

Since water is both the literal and symbolic source of life, it improves the ch’i more than most other elements. Slow moving water allows ch’i to accumulate, or even be formed. This is where water fountains become essential to balance life’s energies. Depending on the placement of water fountains, they can enhance different aspects of your life and improve mental health.

Water fountains bring the soothing sounds of water into your life and are a good way to bring positive energy into the home. For indoors, place a wall fountain in your office or work area. The soothing effect of running water helps reduce tension, while providing symbolic nourishment to increase your income. The stones in the fountain help stabilize your finances so you don’t spend more as you earn more. For outdoors, garden fountains can be used. Like wall fountains, garden fountains are available in materials that are also appropriate for Feng shui such as glass—(again, symbolizes water), stone, ceramic, wood, and metal. These Feng shui material elements go hand-in-hand with the balance you wish to create in your home.

Birdbaths are also a great addition to your front- or back-yard. Feng shui connects water, which nurtures all life, with money. Birds are also considered lucky, so this cure combines both symbols to increase prosperity.

Here are some additional Feng shui tips to include more water and the cycle of life into your home or office:

* Position a mirror to reflect a body of water. This cure is for people who live near a body of water—a lake, the ocean, a river, or a stream. Water, which nourishes all life, can also symbolically nourish your finances and help increase your income. Hang a mirror so that it reflects the view of water and “draws” its wealth-producing energy to you.

* Install an aquarium in your living room. Aquariums grace many Chinese restaurants and are considered good luck. Because fish are living creatures, they are apt symbols of life, health, and growth, and water nourishes all living things. An aquarium also makes a colorful, calming addition to your interior environment.

* Replace a washer in a leaky kitchen faucet. A dripping faucet in the kitchen, where wealth is generated, can cause money to slowly leak away.

* Close toilet lids. Ch’i flows away from your home via drains, especially the toilet. Closing the toilet lid keeps money from “going down the drain.”

* Close the bathroom door and the shower curtain. By keeping these closed, you prevent ch’i—and prosperity–from slipping away down the drain.

* Hang a glass wind chime in the window of your office or work space. Glass facilitates mental activity and communication, so this is good for people who work in communication fields, computers, or sales.

Feng shui reminds us that we’re living with rather than against nature and it benefits both human beings and our environment. Our lives are affected by our physical and emotional environments. Instead of surrounding ourselves with destruction and obstruction, we surround ourselves with openness, cleanliness, and the understanding of life’s essential elements; we are harmonizing ourselves and balancing our lives.

Sensory Deprivation Tank For Evolving Consciousness INTENSE!

Sensory Deprivation Tanks

“The sensory deprivation tank (chamber) has been the most important tool that I have ever used for developing my mind, for thinking, for evolving” -Joe Rogan

What is Flotation in a Sensory Deprivation Tank?

Quite simply, floating is a method of attaining the deepest rest that humankind has ever experienced.

It is spending an hour or so lying quietly in the dark, suspended in a body temperature solution of Epsom salt, about 10” deep, and so dense that you float effortlessly.

In the gravity free environment the body balances and heals internally as all the senses are rested.

In short, it is complete mental and physical relaxation. One hour of floating has the restorative effects of 4 hours of sleep!

Scientists estimate that up to 90% of the brain’s normal workload is caused by the effects of routine environmental stimulation the combined effects of gravity, temperature, touch, light and sound on the muscles, nervous system and sense organs of the body.

The float room screens out these external physical stimuli, creating a pure state of “sensory” relaxation. Under these unique conditions, your body has a chance to restore its natural powers of self-regulation, while you simply lie back and rediscover the latent abilities of a deeply relaxed mind.

The temperature inside the room is kept at a constant 93.5 degrees F – relaxed skin temperature. As a result, the nerve endings which cover the surface of the skin no longer perceive any sense of separation between the skin and the silky mineral solution which surrounds it.

In the dark, weightless tranquility of the room, the boundaries of your body seem to dissolve and vanish. As you enter progressively deeper levels of relaxation, even your body seems to “disappear” from conscious awareness because of the sharp reduction in signals being transmitted through the nervous system to the brain.

Free from all external stimulation, your body can achieve a state of relaxation, which is deeper, purer and more beneficial than sleep. With no body to look after, your mind can attend to other business. The sudden de-stimulation of large areas of the nervous system triggers a spontaneous chain reaction throughout the body known as the parasympathetic response. Muscle tension, blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen consumption all drop dramatically. The whole chemistry of the body changes.

Blood vessels including capillaries dilate, improving cardio-vascular efficiency and increasing the supply of oxygen and nutrients to every single cell in your body. This is called the vasodilatory effect

Stress related chemicals such as adrenaline, cortisol, ACTH and lactate are removed from the bloodstream and replaced by beneficial endorphins. High levels of cortisol and ACTH are known to weaken the body’s immune system and create feelings of depression, while lower baseline levels are associated with feelings of confidence.

These biochemical changes occur naturally and spontaneously as by-products of deep sensory relaxation. No training or techniques are required. Just lie back and let it happen.
I really want to do this!! How about you??!!

Finding You, Healing the Hidden Self

Finding You, Healing the Hidden Self

People today are starting to recognize the value of self-talk. At one time people thought of those that talked to self as someone with a mental ailment. This is not true today. Experts are recognizing that self-talk is a healthy tool that we all can use to find answers to our questions and resolve many problems.

At one time, people thought outer appearance made the person. However, today, people are starting to realize that beauty is skin deep, while inner beauty is to the bone. Today people are running to find ways to develop self.

Recently, personality development courses opened to help these people find their way. Now, people are not spending countless of dollars on improving their looks, rather they are spending more time and money to find ways of healing the hidden self.

The hidden being is decided on the inner conscious. We all have several hidden personalities that we do not recognize. These personalities often come out, usually when feelings are expressed.

To understand one’s feelings, one has to use his or her self-talk tools. Most of us can manage our job tasks on a daily schedule, but when it comes to managing our feelings and emotions, often it becomes a struggle. Using self-talk tools can change this behavior.

As humans, we often struggle to abandon bad behaviors, or habits. The common problem we face today is greed. We see this by examining human behaviors. You probably noticed that on several occasions when a person made a small lump sum of cash, they often want more. Instead of accepting that they have what they need, many people will thrive to make more money, and often find themselves down and out at the end; Life seems to be nothing more than the almighty dollar, i.e. most people’s goal in life.

People tend to believe that they can attain happiness and love by making more money. The fact is these people often find themselves stressing, because they failed to realize that finding love, joy, and peace is the true road to self-development. Success or failure is not what makes a person. What makes a person is fighting through the hidden messages in the subliminal mind to discover self.

We all battle emotional responses, such as anger, sadness, joy, et cetera and these emotions ignite from failures, depression, and success and so on. We all feel down at times. There is no way that we can escape the feeling of sadness, joy, anger, et cetera, but there is a way we can all take control of what we express and feel.

Another problem we face is dependency. Many people in the world today depend on others to pick them up when they are down. This leads to major problems, simply because not one person has the power to heal you, but you.

To work through all of these problems, we must depend on self, and develop a winning attitude to build confidence. By changing our approach, we can see that the world is our own based on how we accept it. If a body is unhappy, then the world will seem like a miserable place to live. One of the common sayings today is, “Life is a B, and then you die.” This entire negative is causing them to miss the benefits of living.

In each of our lives, some of us are fortunate while others are unfortunate. We must realize that everything we endure takes place to help us learn. For instance, a severely traumatized person may have lived a life of overwhelming violence. There is a point to be made here. Of course, this person is the victim and has no responsibility of what has occurred in his or her life, yet the point is made clear at the end of this person’s journey.

We can all live and learn from each other. Despite what type of life you have lived you can develop a positive attitude and win the game of life. By holding onto negative thoughts, you only defeat the purpose of living. Life is too short, so develop a winning attitude and healing the hidden self will fall into place.

A Simple Formula to Overcome Worry and Fear

worry free

Overcome Worry and Fear:

If you ask most people why they have not achieved their goals or the level of success they desire, they will usually respond with some built-in excuse (negative belief) that is holding them back. Underlying this excuse or negative belief is usually a fear or worry. How many times have you attempted something new, only to stop before you ever got started because you were afraid of what others may think? Or you don’t think you have the time or money or both? Or because you believe are inexperienced or lack the knowledge to succeed?

Someone once defined F.E.A.R. as False Evidence Appearing Real, which means we have chosen to believe in something that is not really true. But because it is our belief, it is our reality. Worry is nothing more than a sustained fear caused by indecision. Sometimes we need to ask some tough questions to determine the cause of these worries or fears. Once the fear is identified, a simple formula can be used to overcome that fear.

The first step is to clearly define what you are afraid of or worried about. Write in down. Put in on paper. Half of your worries and fears will be solved the instant you can define them clearly by putting them on paper. What once seemed big in your mind will look small and insignificant on paper.

For the other half, you need to move on to step two. Ask yourself, what is the worst possible thing that can happen if this fear or worry becomes true? Make a list, yes, write it down on paper underneath your clearly defined worry. Keep writing down everything that comes to mind until you have identified the worst possible outcome. Do you realize that 90% of what we worry about never happens? Think about how much time you spend on worrying about stuff that never will happen. This list will help you see that.

Once you have completed your list, resolve in your mind that you will accept the worst possible thing that can happen. Since 90% of those things will never occur and generally the other 10% will not kill you, realize you will survive. Accept the worst possible thing by telling yourself, I can handle it, over and over again. This will start to turn things around.

Finally, begin now to make sure the worst never happens. Put together an action plan of exactly what you need to do to turn things around. By focusing on positive changes and implementing your action plan, your focus will shift to the positive outcomes and away from your fears. You will begin to feel better because now you can DO SOMETHING! Positive action is the only cure for fear and worry. Try this formula today and see if it will work for you. It has worked for me.

3 Positive Steps To Discover Life Purpose

life purpose

In this article we will discuss the concept of life and its underlying principle. We will be going through a step by step procedure, exploring your feelings and options, and by the end of this article, you should have a fairly solid tool you could immediately employ in your life, to give it a meaningful direction.

There are three steps to the process of discovering the purpose of your life:

Understanding the principle of choice
Creating your underlying principle
Aligning your life with the underlying principle

Understanding the principle of choice

Norman Vincent Peale has this to say about the power of choice. “The greatest power we have is the power of choice. It is an actual fact, that if you have been groping under unhappiness, you can choose to be joyous, instead. And, by effort, lift yourself into joy. If you tend to be fearful, you can overcome that misery by choosing to have courage. The whole trend and the quality of anyone’s life is determined by the choice that are made”.

Choosing is the most important activity of your mind, because by making a choice, you are proclaiming your desires to your subconscious mind. Once the subconscious mind get to know your desires, it is going to do anything to manifest them in your life. The choices you make in your life become your goal. And, if you are sincere in pursuing them, there is no reason why you should not accomplish them.

Indecision, on the other hand, not only creates frustration and anxiety, but can also confuse the subconscious mind about what you want. But it is important that the choices you make are made by you, in accordance with your true desires, purposes and aptitude. A lot us of let others make choices for us, or make our choices according to what we think is ‘correct’, even if that means that we go against our wishes. What is right for someone is may not be right for you, and the way to know this is listening to what your heart says.
So, begin with, make a list of things which interests you; things which you have always enjoyed, which makes you feel better, which inspires you to surge ahead, no matter what obstacles you face. Do you like doing something creative, or something artistic? Do you enjoy nature, do you like the sea? Do you enjoy helping others? Do you get pleasure out of making a difference in other people’s life?

What ever it is that interests you, go ahead and make a list under the following headlines:

Things you love to do:

What is it that you love in this thing and why? How you could do this for money, and make a living out of it?

Creating Your Underlying Principle:

The next step is to examine the list you just made and find out if there is any recurring them. Maybe, it is the contribution that keeps coming up, or an effect to seek or give love, or helping your parents cope with old age. Whatever it is try to identify the central them of the things you love to do, and try to put it in a short and precise statement. This will be your ‘Mission Statement’. It may even be a quote by a famous person, or a philosophy that has influenced you. Of course, as you grow up, this statement could evolve, but its soul will remain the same. Now, write down your Mission Statement.

Aligning your LIFE with the Underlying Principle:

The final step in this journey is to map your path to your ultimate purpose. Make the little changes in your lifestyle that would accommodate this principle in your life. LIVE this principle each and every day. It might take a few days, but you will certainly feel the difference in your enthusiasm for life. If you realize that you love being amidst nature, plan out your holiday. Maybe an outing with your children could be enough to recoup with your energy. On the other hand, you might even want to change your job, or start a new business, that is more in line with your mission.

Remember – “Do what you love, and money will follow”.

How To Achieve a Spiritual Awakening

spiritual awakening

Go look at an Indian guru or a Buddhist monk, and you’ll observe that there’s a dreamy look in their eyes, or a state of bliss that emanates from their countenance.

Since most people, especially those living in the city, are pervaded by stress in an environment where deadlines, expectations, and goals are at the forefront of their thoughts, the urge to disentangle oneself from worldly worries and insipid thoughts can take its hold every once in a while.

Some resort to travel, and some depend on the company of friends. But after the weeding out of negative thoughts, an individual will most likely find himself in the midst of stress again once he goes back in the strangle of the real world.

So what’s the best cure after initial attempts to find solace has failed? It can be summed up in two words: spiritual awakening.spiritual awakening

What is Spiritual Awakening?

Spiritual awakening is a process that takes place in an individual’s being.

It involves heightened consciousness, enlightenment, and transcendence. How do we exactly reach this state?

Does it involve secluding ourselves in one solitary room and concentrating as hardly as we can? Maybe so, but the act of achieving spiritual awakening is a much more sophisticated process.

Spiritual Awakening Through Meditation

A full understanding of how our mind works is instrumental in this endeavor. Everything around us – tangible and intangible – are all products of the mind and its processes.

Human perception is limited, and what we sense in our surroundings are its mere products. Take color for instance. Color is just a quality assigned by the brain in accordance to different degrees of wavelengths.

So color in itself is just an illusion, and we can’t really tell that red or blue is an absolute truth when describing specific objects. And knowing that our mind is limited by the interpretations of the human brain, we will need to do away with the mind while trying to attempt this exercise.

You need to look at the mind like a casual observer, and treat it as something that is separate from our selves. Try to relax and concentrate, and ensure that you are in a location secluded from outside interference.

Imagine that you are in an invisible dome, and that the mind is outside, wherein thoughts and fancies are unable to penetrate. If you achieve this, profound silence will ensue, and you will feel that you are free of the mind. You’ll feel vaster, bigger, and encompassing.

And in the state of heightened consciousness, you will have a glimpse of reality, as opposed to the false reality that our mind perceives. You will feel peaceful, and a sense of connection with everything will be felt in a more profound manner.

Practice is Fundamental
This takes a lot of practice and discipline. And it is inherent that you give yourself the opportunity to be alone and in a place where nothing can disturb you.

Through constant practice, achieving spiritual awakening will be second nature to you and this heightened consciousness will last longer. Most important of all, this practice can help you improve the quality of your life.

Three Stages of Spiritual Enlightenment

path of enlightenment

The basic goal when people undertake any kind of spiritual practice is attempts to achieve spiritual enlightenment. The culminating point marked in the practices is when one already attains the spiritual enlightenment therefore they feel the unity of soul, leaving behind all physical and mental engagements and everything else. It is possessing highly evolved souls, and to share the kind of enlightenment that these spiritual masters experience they propagate it through the world.

For practical purposes, attaining spiritual enlightenment comes into levels. The spiritual masters evolve from the first to the third levels.

The first one is the animality levels to which many individuals have a tendency to degrade themselves. In this stage, you experience and live the reality as any individuals would. You may continuously engage in ordinary activities like talking, gossiping, planning the future, analyzing everything about us, and so on and so forth. You are the normal, ordinary individual walking around just like everybody else.

You are experiencing just like everybody else is experiencing, although in this stage, you are already taking the cue to uplift the enlightenment of your soul towards a more meaningful existence. When spiritual enlightenment is considered, you are at a stage when you are taking just everything as presented but you are also undergoing an effort to detach worldly things from your existence.

In the second levels, you rise into humanity, to which now constitutes the very nature of the human individuals. In this stage, the individual experiences a connection to every individual around them and even to every object surrounding them. The experience makes them like losing their own individuality; however, the culmination is already taking its mark signaling that a merge is happening between their own with the Supreme soul.

As you feel you are no longer the individual that you are and instead one with everything around your environment, you are closing in with the Supreme Soul as everything comes from Him. This is a great experience that anyone can undergo because enlightening of the soul is starting to dawn with more promises to be a lot better later on with the succeeding stage.

In the third levels is the divinity, to which now spiritual masters convene back and unite with the very source where humans came from. In this stage, you don’t feel connected with everything around you anymore. And this is not a sense of disconnection, instead you are already realizing that you are that everything. It means the spiritual enlightenment is taking its course up to give you the experience where oneness with God is already culminating.

So after experiencing the humanity, the divinity makes you feel you are everything. Meaning, you are no longer your own body, mind, senses, and your intellect faculty. And in this stage, you are directly undertaking the divine experience, the attainment of God, which is the highest level that spiritual masters undergo.

When an individual undergoes spiritual enlightenment, all luck is in them for it is that fruit that sets them free from the material wants, wishes, and desires. It does not only make you feel the complete bliss of being free but gives you the experience that rarely is being undertaken by everybody else.

Chamomile: The Sacred Herbal Muscle Relaxer

chamomile

It is probably the most widely consumed herbal tea in the world. Prove to the fact that over one million cups of this kind of herb tea are ingested worldwide each day. Chamomile is the name for various related plants of the family Asteraceae, the aster family. The word chamomile is derived from the Greek word “chamos” meaning ground and “melos” which means apple, which refers to the plant’s low growing habit and the fact that the fresh blooms are somewhat apple-scented. Chamomile has been used for centuries in teas as a mild, relaxing sleep aid, treatment for fevers, colds, stomach ailments, and as an anti-inflammatory, to name only a few of its therapeutic uses.

chamomileThe plant according to extensive scientific research over the past 20 years has confirmed many of the traditional uses and established pharmacological mechanisms for the plant’s therapeutic activities, including anti-peptic, antispasmodic, antibacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-allergenic activity. The Chamomile flower has also been hailed as a sacred herb from early on. The nervous system benefits from Chamomile tea through its calming effects. Muscles in the body contract and relax in response to chemical signals delivered through the bloodstream. Muscles that are having difficulty relaxing have a chemical in them that is signaling the muscle to contract. This herbal muscle relaxer soothes muscles by increasing certain amino acids. With the way humans depend on their muscle function, it is no wonder muscle pain can be a very uncomfortable situation. Some muscle pain sufferers experience manageable pain only causing stiffness and soreness. For others, the pain may be debilitating and cause tenderness and inflamed areas. Doctors often first recommend applying heat or cold as well as rest and basic stretching. However if that fails to work, an herbal muscle relaxer such as Chamomile is the safest and confident choice.

Although best known as a herbal muscle relaxer, chamomile is also believed to have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory capabilities. The plant’s healing properties come from its daisy-like flowers, which contain volatile oils including bisabolol, bisabolol oxides A and B, and matricin, as well as flavonoids and other therapeutic substances. Chamomile may be used internally or externally. As a popular remedy, it may be thought of as the European counterpart of ginseng. Chamomile tea benefits the muscles along the digestive tract, allowing digestion to take place more efficiently. It helps muscles relax in other parts of the body, which helps people who suffer from insomnia fall asleep naturally. Chamomile tea even has the benefit of reducing gas. Chamomile flowers have also been proven to have anti-inflammatory properties. Cosmetic products such as lotions that are infused with chamomile are used to reduce skin diseases such as eczema and other skin inflammation. It also greatly help repair skin on over-worked and over-exposed hands. The chamomile flower extracts help tone and strengthen delicate ski tissue. Drinking chamomile tea before bedtime has been followed for centuries on account of its ability to calm the nervous system and soothe gastrointestinal disorders. It’s mild flavor makes chamomile tea a favorite beverage with many. From the time of the early Egyptians and Greeks until today, Chamomile is still considered as a sacred herb because of its many curative and healing properties.

Luckily for me there’s always been that curiosity of what’s out there in the alternative world including the alternative therapies. I’ve tried many of them over the years and will continue to do so, all in the hope I can make things better for my body, mind and spirit. And it has.

I’m aware that what may work for me may not work for someone else, so the message is to keep trying until you find something that will suit your needs.

Many times I’ve been told they’ve tried everything. What is everything? What it actually boiled down to you could count on one hand. It’s worthwhile to keep searching, you may find that your world expands in a most amazing way by the making of new friendships (I have) and picking up useful skills for your ‘self-healing’ tool-kit.

So what do I do when I’ve reached a cross-road and need some direction or could do with some healing?

Below I’ve listed 5 basic points that have helped to lift my spirit and with practice will also help yours:

1. Meditation! Meditation is one of the greatest self healing tools available and costs nothing except a little of your time! There are many meditation techniques out there, find one that suits you and begin.

By putting some meditation music on and spending time in quiet contemplation it can soothe your soul and reconnect you with the highest aspect of yourself.

2. Aromatherapy and Essential Oils.

Rebalance and rejuvenate your spirit through blending a selection of essential oils together in an aromatherapy oil burner. I’ve found the following blend works extremely well when there’s a need for nurturing, support and healing:

Approximately an hour before retiring to bed place a few drops of the following in an aromatherapy oil burner with some water (for safety’s sake, extinguish the flame before lights are turned off for the night):

4 drops Jasmine

4 drops Rose

4 drops Neroli

3 drops Lavender

3 drops Bergamot

The smell divine! I use this one every now and again and not only sleep like a baby but anxiety and stress disappears, and feels like the weight of the world has lifted from my shoulders by the following morning! (If you have a small bedroom you might like to half the amount of drops)

3. Breathe! Stand with feet a shoulder-length apart. Take 3 slow and deep breaths using the diaphragm muscles. Breathe in through the nose, and breathe out through slightly parted lips. As you do these imagine you’re inhaling your personal power, filling every cell in your body, from your diaphragm up to the top of your head.

Be your personal power and notice how much taller, straighter and stronger you become. Repeat the steps above.

4. Be in the Present Moment. Take a few deep breaths and focus totally on this moment, right now.

If you’re reading a book or magazine, or even this article, totally focus on the words and take in their meaning. There is only you and this article now in the present moment.

If you’re in the workplace, focus totally on the task at hand, and only this task, and what you must do in order to complete it. Nothing else matters except you and the task at hand.

5. Set an intention. When I’m on the lookout for something new and useful for me, I set my intention on what it is I’m after.

For example, I may want to find a book that will give me answers in regards to directing me to another healing modality or skill. I then meditate on this intention, give it a timeframe then open my heart to it. Lo and behold I will have a book in my hand in no time at all! I love the power of intention – I also use intention for getting a parking space when I go shopping!

These days I rarely get sick and when I do and have a medical checkup, doctors tell me I’m actually very healthy (surely they can find something so I can get some sympathy around here!) which also includes blood test results.

I still do sadness and unhappiness well (I’m still human) though neither lasts long whereas in the past it would last many days sometimes weeks. What lasts much longer is a peaceful state.

When using the 5 points above, my spirit lifts and life once again becomes more peaceful and joyful.

The Power of Your Subconcious Mind

subconscious

Scientists say that we only use 10% of our minds. Think about what I just said. We use only 10% of our minds! We are wasting the other 90%. Think of it this way….what if we only used 10% of our salary? Could we survive on 10% of our salary? No way, unless your Bill Gates. What about eating only 10% of the food we make? Wouldn’t that be a waste of food? What if we slept only 10% of 8 hours or 80 minutes a day? Could we survive? What if we had only 10% of the oxygen that was available? Could we survive? The answer to all these questions is a resounding NO!

So why do we put up with using only 10% of our brain? Look at your life. Are you living the life you want….on your terms? Are you happy with what you’ve created or do you think it could be better? Chances are that you are living to only 10% of your abilities. What if you could make your life 100, 500, or 1,000% better? I can hear you now saying…”That’s impossible” or “that’s too hard to do.” If you did say that, you’re repeating the same pattern in your life, which is you are using only 10% of your brain or less.

If you’re happy with using just the 10% of your brain then stop reading now. If you’re not satisfied and want to be able to use the rest of it then keep reading. Think about the greatness you can achieve by using your entire mind. There have been a number of great teachers of using the mind, such as Napoleon Hill, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Maxwell Maltz and many others. These men knew the secret to using the power of your mind and how to tap into it.

I’m here to tell you that you currently posses the most powerful tool in the Universe….your SUBCONSCIOUS MIND. Your subconscious mind knows everything. It has all the answers if you just use it correctly. It can lead you to a life of harmony, wealth, health, joy and success! This is possible with all aspects of your life.

It’s not your fault. You were never taught how to use your mind. The past is over and today can be a new start. It doesn’t matter what happened before today, what matters is what happens from today on. You must believe in your subconscious mind and know that it can allow you to lead a life of joy and success.

Let’s start off with a very simple procedure. Use your subconscious mind as an alarm clock. Before going to bed at night, tell it what time you want to get up. Let’s say you want to wake up at 7:00am. Before going to bed, tell your subconscious mind to “wake me up at 7:00am” and while saying this visualize a clock that reads 7:00.

The first step in changing your life is to start making impressions on your subconscious mind. You can so this by making affirmations as well as thinking certain thoughts. For example, let’s say you want to attract money in your life. You can simply repeat these words “I am wealth and success”. Repeat these words several times a day. It’s best to say them in the morning when you get up and right before you sleep. This is when your mind is in an alpha state. When saying them, make sure you really mean them and focus on the words. Don’t feel it’s a chore or else it will not do you any good. You can also say them while meditating.

This can work for anything. Make sure the affirmations are positive and not stating the negative. For example, if you want to quit smoking, don’t say “I don’t smoke”. Instead say “My lungs are pure and healthy and I am cigarette free.” “I am” are two of the most powerful words in the English language.

Also, it’s very important to think positively, don’t say to yourself, “I’m just never lucky” or “I’m just meant to be poor.” Think the opposite, “I am lucky” or “Things always work out to my favor” and I am wealthy and successful.” If you have trouble believing yourself when you say them then change them to become more believable. You can start small or say “I am becoming wealthy.”

If you need help with a problem or are in a situation where you have to make a tough decision and don’t know which is the best for you. Ask your subconscious mind for help. Let’s say you are contemplating two separate job offers and you are having trouble deciding between the two. Ask your subconscious mind for help by asking it. You may say something like “Infinite wisdom of my subconscious mind, I ask for your help in deciding what is best between these two job offers, I ask for your help and guidance in making a decision that is best for me.”

Be still and listen to your subconscious mind. Close your eyes if need be and do not force anything to come to you but just be still and listen. If the answer doesn’t come right away, that’s ok. It’s probably searching for the answer and it may take a little bit of time. But, I assure you, the answer will come…..maybe the next day or next week. You just need to be alert and have your antennas up. The answer may come from something outside of you, perhaps after you wake up. You may be clear in your thoughts on what to do. You may read or hear something that may enlighten you on what to do. You may receive your answer by running into a friend and he may say something that may help you decide. Just be patient and do not get frustrated and think too much about it. By doing so, you are delaying the answer form coming to you.
