5 Inspirational Lessons Every Child Can Teach An Adult

“The soul is healed by being with children.”  ~Fyodor Dostoevsky

We tend to think that children are in this world only to learn from adults, so that they will one day reach to adulthood and be well-adjusted to society. But we fail to see that adults also have many invaluable lessons to learn from children.

In fact, if adults were a bit more like children, their life would be completely different, in a very positive way.

Here are 5 great lessons a child can teach an adult:

Enjoy the present moment

The past is not here anymore, the future is not here yet. Only the present moment is, and we can live only in the present.

Most adults live a life that does not allow them to fully enjoy the present moment. Their mind is continuously focused on the future: what job they will get, how much money they will make, what kinds of possessions they will acquire, and so on. All their time and energy is directed towards the future, and they see the present only as a means to some future end. In this way they they forget to let go and enjoy the here and now–thus they are wasting their whole life.

Children, on the other hand, are fully focused on the present each and every moment, squeezing the juice out of life. They not concerned about the future, but are wholly absorbed in experiencing everything that life brings in their way.

Express yourself

Children are in most cases truthful in their behavior. When they feel happy, they jump, dance, or laugh. When they feel sad and uncomfortable, they scream or burst into tears. Whatever they feel, they express it, without caring about what others might think of them. In this way, no suppressed thoughts and emotions accumulate in their psyche, which is the reason why most children are care-free and relaxed.

Adults, however, tend to suppress themselves. They choose to hide their true thoughts and emotions, because this makes them feel exposed and insecure. They are continuously concerned about what other people would think of them, so they prefer to act “normal.”

If a man starts crying when he is sad, people might think he has a weak personality. If he dances when he is happy, people might think he has gone crazy. Afraid of this to happen, most adults choose to wear a social mask to hide their true self from others. But this is very energy consuming: they exert tremendous amounts of effort to keep themselves in this state of hypocrisy, which only helps them become neurotic and develop all sorts of psychological issues.

Be playful

Playfulness is the very salt of life. It is what makes life worth living–without it, life becomes a drudgery, a burden, a slow torture.

When we were children, we found immense joy in playing. By playing, we felt fulfilled, pulsating with life. As we grew older, however, we stopped playing. Look around you and you’ll see that almost all adults have forgotten how to be playful–and this perhaps includes yourself. Most adults are continuous busy, wearing a long face, looking serious, and are only interested in business. They work, day in, day out, and they never have free time to enjoy themselves.

For adults, everything should be used as a mean towards an end. Therefore they find it silly and a waste of time to be playful and just have fun. Such people think that those who do otherwise, act like children, and that they’d better behave their age.

Children have no reason for playing other than play itself. They don’t play for any purpose, they don’t have any goal–they play for play’s sake, and this fills their life with joy and celebration.

Admire the world

Existence seems like a miracle to every child–a cosmos filled with bright colors, harmonic sounds, beautiful fragrances… a mystery that cannot be put into words.

Children admire the world and find deep joy just by experiencing it. They are continuously curious to find out more, to learn, to experiment, to explore and discover.

Adults, however, have lost the capacity to admire. They have been so used to their stressed and miserable lives that they don’t pay attention at all to the beauty this world is continuously offering us, and hence can’t appreciate it. To them, everything looks ordinary and boring–they have become insensitive to this wonder-full existence.

Life is a great gift that has been freely given to us, and the presence of children can remind us to be grateful for it and enjoy it for as long as we can.

Be innocent

Look deep into a small child’s eyes and you will come to experience what innocence is.

To be innocent means to be free of shame and guilt, to have an open mind and a trusting heart, and to have pure intentions.

Adults have lost this innocence that is natural to children. Adults feel afraid and insecure to open up themselves and show trust to those around them. Instead, they have chosen to build walls around them so as to psychologically protect themselves. In the competitive world that we have created, adults are cunning, aggressive, acquisitive, exploitative, and inevitably filled with remorse, shame, guilt, misery, and sadness.

Every one of us is born innocent, but as we grow up, most of us tend to lose our innocence. By being at the presence of a child, an adult can regain that innocence and start living in a completely different way–a way of beauty, fulfillment, and utter joy.

12 Things You Need to Know About Loving a Scorpio

12 Things You Need to Know About Loving a Scorpio

Loving a Scorpio is anything but boring. They are passionate, intense and full of great mystery; a Scorpio knows how to keep things exciting and their sexuality is nothing to be taken lightly.

Scorpio’s are naturally empathic and highly intuitive which makes them more sensitive to emotions than most. Scorpio’s are dominating and head strong, but in the end they will always follow their heart. Because of this quality in themselves, they most often listen to the hearts of others over rational thinking processes and can be left confused and hurt when someone doesn’t follow their truest desire.

So if you are dating, are married to, or are simply related to a Scorpio, here are the crucial things you need to know.

1.They are intense

No other sign in the zodiac can match the intensity of a Scorpio. Whatever they do, they do it with reverence or they won’t do it all.

2.They can be self-destructive

The sign of the alchemist, Scorpio rules over death and rebirth and therefore is natural at breaking down aspects of themselves in order to start over from scratch. From an outsiders perspective, it may appear to be self-inflicted abuse however a Scorpio knows that it may take a melt down in order to build themselves back up again and this time, stronger than ever before.

3.They can be overly sensitive

As Scorpio’s are highly intuitive and naturally empathic, they tend to absorb the energies of others and reverberate them into their being, let alone trying to cope with their own emotional dealings. Therefore scorpios can be highly sensitive and it is important to support a scorpio, they way they need to be. Reassuring a scorpio “that everything will be o.k” and that there is no need to worry can do wonders for emotional stability.

4.They are introverted

The extroverted introvert, a scorpio loves to be the center of attention when at a vibrational high, yet will become recluse once the energy is either attained or dispelled. They are naturally gifted at “small talk”, and know how to be charming without letting outsiders see the real authentic part of them.

5.They believe in fairy tales

Scorpios are magicians by nature and they are keen at reading between the lines. Love stories like The Notebook or fairy tales like Cinderella, conjure their inner knowing that miracles are real. A scorpio loves to search for these hidden meanings laying just below the surface and will scratch until they break the veil.

6.They are stubborn

The intensity and tenaciousness of a scorpio can drive them into tunnel vision. Once they are set on something, its hard to make them see anything but what they are focused on. When offended a scorpio will plant their feet hard and dig in deep. It takes the soothing and calm demeanor of their partner to melt their ice and bring them back to a level head.

7.They are independent

A scorpio is clear to let you know that they really don’t need you, without speaking a word. They are strong, determined and self-sufficient. The hard shell of a scorpio allows them to manage alright when it comes to the everyday, but what they really need is someone who can match their level. No doubt a scorpio has or will have gone through relationships where they assume the leader role and while they can do this with ease, for the long-term they are looking for someone whom they can trust enough to lead them.

It takes a lot to earn the respect and trust of a scorpio and this is because they can see right through you, don’t ever think they can’t.

8.They tend to be over thinkers

A scorpio always hears what is behind the words being spoken, the “what’s not being said” is their domain and because of this, they can’t help but lean towards the overthinking end of everything.

9.They take things seriously

On the downfall, scorpios are known to take life a little too seriously and need to be reminded that the universe is playful! They are hard on themselves and are known to hold guilt for a longer than normal period of time. Let your scorpio know that they shouldn’t sweat it “like water off a ducks back.”

10.They are highly observant

Not much gets past a scorpio, a natural detective, they will be on to you before you know it. So if you are trying to be sneaky, you’d better be on your A game.

11.They are highly sexual

No doubt, word on the street is that a scorpio is crazy in bed. If you aren’t looking for anything but the contemporary, choose a different sign to be your mate. Scorpios know how to take normal ordinary sex and amplify it into something more– sensual, spiritual and creative. They understand the power of sexual creative energy and know just how to wield it. But beware if you double cross a scorpio, they have complete control over their reproductive organs can shut it down, turn it off and lock it up, just as quick.

12.They are crazy!

Scorpio’s are highly creative and this creativity needs an outlet! If a scorpio is pent-up with out a release, or stuck on an idea without closure you’d better watch out because its going to get out, one way or another.

5 Clear Signs A Deceased Loved One is Nearby

5 Clear Signs A Deceased Love One is Nearby

You don’t have to be a psychic medium to get in touch with deceased loved ones. In fact,  passed souls will always reach out to us in times of need or longing. They can come with important messages or just to simply give you their reassuring presence and let you know everything is o.k. Usually though, we tend to overlook these phenomenal events as an overactive imagination and classify it in our minds as grief processing. But if we could all raise our awareness a little bit more, we might just find comfort in knowing that we are never alone.

5. They Appear in Your Dreams

5 Clear Signs A Deceased Loved One is NearbyA vivid dream of a deceased loved one is classified as a lucid dream or vision. This is because of the potency of the dream. Quite often these are so intense that they wake you up in the middle of night filled with emotion. You may even be consciously aware of the fact that you are dreaming and not even realize it.

4. You Feel Their Touch

Most commonly felt shortly after a loved ones passing, the sensation of being caressed softly, either on the back or the hand is a clear sign of comfort from the deceased. Others may also just feel, that they are not alone and sense the presence of someone else in the room.

3. Unexplainable Phenomenon

It is not uncommon for passed spirits to affect electrical components in the home. You may find burnt out light bulbs more often, or other devices starting to go haywire for no other apparent reason. Think about it, if you were on the other side… wouldn’t you?

2. Hiding or Appearing Objects

There have been many accounts of the deceased “stealing” things from the home only to later have them appear in the most random of places. It may feel as though you have lost your mind, but don’t worry they are just trying to get your attention! And apparently you
are not listening. On the opposite, you may also find that you have lost something that is really important and when you begin stressing out about it.. suddenly it appears in the strangest place, easy for you to find and you could have sworn that you just looked there.

1.You Smell Them

UnknownOur sense of smell is the strongest of our senses and just one whiff can bring back a thousand memories.

The most common accounts of fragrances are the smell of cigarette tobacco or cigars while no one in the smokes, perfume and flowers.

Interesting Story:

My 3-year-old daughter (at the time) came into the room one afternoon. She was playing with her kitchen set downstairs. In her hands she held a plastic plate, plastic food and a spoon. I asked her if she was making herself lunch and she told me “yes but I have to go get more for Bill, I’ll be right back”. (I thought this was a funny thing to say).

She came back up from downstairs with another plate and so I asked her “who’s Bill?”. She looked at me and told me with a completely straight face “he’s sitting at the kitchen table”. My mind quickly raced to try to figure out what she was talking about… until I realized. Bill was our old neighbour he was in his early 90’s when I last saw him and Bill  passed away 2 years ago. She would have been 1 years old at the time of his death.

7 Ways to Activate Your Chakras Using The Spiritual Power of Dance

7 Ways to Activate Your Chakras Using The Spiritual Power of Dance

“Dance is the fastest, most direct route to the truth — We dance to fall in love with the spirit in all things, to wipe out memory or transform it into moves that nobody else can make because they didn’t live it. We dance to hook up to the true genius lurking behind all the bullshit — to seek refuge in our originality and our power to reinvent ourselves; to shed the past, forget the future and fall into the moment feet first. Remember being fifteen, possessed by the beat, by the thrill of music pumping loud enough to drown out everything you’d ever known”

1397604630“We dance to survive, and the beat offers a yellow brick road to make it through the chaos that is the tempo of our times. We dance to shed skins, tear off masks, crack molds, and experience the breakdown — the shattering of borders between body, heart and mind, between genders and generations, between nations and nomads. We are the transitional generation” “This is our dance” –Dr. Bruce Lipton

Do you ever feel like the energy in certain areas of your body have become stuck or stagnant and meditation or Reiki just isn’t clearing it up.? You might feel it manifest into physical symptoms such as sore joints, bones or muscle tension. Dancing is a great way to alchemize these blockages and really get the energy flowing again.

Each chakra holds its own sort of akashic record of information storage and these portals of consciousness are like gateways, that elevate our own conscious growth. When this energy is free to circulate, it highly impacts our emotional, mental and spiritual state and the more this energy flows the higher our awareness expands.

So let’s free up those blockages shall we?

Root Chakra: Located at the base of your tailbone when stimulated it activates an exchange go energy between the legs and the sex organs. Movement of this chakra generates a strong sensation of grounding energy between your body and the earth.

root chMove this chakra to generate sensations of security and to develop a strong connection between your body and the earth. To activate this chakra, visualize yourself like a tree with your feet rooted into the earth allowing for the rest of your body to bend and move like bamboo. With each step you take, focus on this connection.

Sacral Chakra: Located at the area in your lower spine and just underneath your belly button in the front. Movement of this chakra generates the balancing energies between your masculine and feminine energies. Move your pelvic area in small circles at first then gradually begin making larger circles.

Solar Plexus: Located just under your breast bone, movement of this chakra will stimulate your heart and lungs. Known as the seat of the ego, activation of this chakra brings self-confidence and strong will power.

green trance888you dance, visualize the sun inside of you, shining brightly throughout your whole body and piercing from the tips of the your fingers and your toes.

Heart Chakra: Located in the centre of your chest, movement of this chakra stimulates energy flow through all extremities of the body. Activation of this chakra releases a potent emotional connection to the essence of all of creation through love, compassion and tolerance. Spread your arms outwards, open your chest and spin!

Throat Chakra: Movement of this chakra stimulates your throat, your mouth, your face and your eyes. Activation of this chakra gives freedom of expression of your own individuality. Bring your head back with your throat poised outwards and give a good release! Belt it out at the top of your lungs.

Third Eye Chakra: Located on your forehead between your eyes, movement of this chakra stimulates the back of the neck, and the top of the head. Activation of this chakra brings a deeper connection to your intuition beyond instinctual.

chakradance-art-2Close your eyes and feel the energy flowing as you dance–through the previously activated chakras and focus the energy pulsing in your forehead. Once you feel the pulse, begin pulling the energy back and forth in a push-pull manner from the back of your neck just below the skull to the front.

Crown Chakra: Located above your physical body, movement of this chakra creates a connection between your physical, etheric body and higher self.

With all other chakras now activated, focus the energy that is pulsing between your third eye and the back of your neck and complete the connection by drawing a point at the top of the head and bring all of the energy above you.

Finally, keep the movement of each chakra until you can feel its sensation. Always recognize the emotion you feel as the energy moves through the chakra and release the attachment to the emotion to move through it. This will keep the energy flowing.

And remember to let the music give you the movement, to bring you the message and create the magic!

This Artist Sees Music in Colours and Paints The Songs She Sees

Synesthesia is a very rare neurological condition, that affects the pathways in the brain which govern our senses causing them to become crossed or linked. In the case of Melissa McCracken however, she doesn’t find her condition, such a drawback.

“Until I was 15, I thought everyone constantly saw colors. Colors in books, colors in math formulas, colors at concerts. But when I finally asked my brother which color the letter C was (canary yellow, by the way) I realized my mind wasn’t quite as normal as I had thought.”

“Basically, my brain is cross-wired. I experience the “wrong” sensation to certain stimuli. Each letter and number is colored and the days of the year circle around my body as if they had a set point in space. But the most wonderful “brain malfunction” of all is seeing the music I hear. It flows in a mixture of hues, textures, and movements, shifting as if it were a vital and intentional element of each song. Having synesthesia isn’t distracting or disorienting. It adds a unique vibrance to the world I experience.”

10 Important Dream Symbols You Should Always Pay Attention To

10 Important Dream Symbols To Always Pay Attention To

If you are someone who pays attention to their dreams, right on! Interpreting dreams symbols is an effective way to translate what our unconscious mind is relaying to us.

This subjective inner reality is no less real, than our objective outer reality, in that, our inner and outer worlds are both coherent and directly affect one another. Really, you could say that we live in two worlds and by paying attention to our dream symbols, we gain real insights and the direct guidance from our unconscious mind as it is a psychological fact that our unconscious knows first.

10. Water

Water is directly associated to your emotions and reflects your current emotional state. If you are repressing your emotions in your waking life or if your emotions are out of control and running the show, water will manifest in your dreams. It is crucial to analyze the state of the water to find the deeper meaning.

9. Flower

To see a budding or blossoming flower, may indicate that new opportunities that you are not yet consciously aware of, are on the horizon for you. Sprouting flowers indicate that your seeds of thought have manifested, look forward to positive changes ahead. While withered or dead flowers indicate that a phase that is coming to an end.

8. The Sun

A potent symbol of spiritual energy, to see the sun shining brightly, indicates awareness, enlightenment and abundance. A sunrise indicates new realizations and joy.

If you see a setting sun, a darkened sun or an eclipse of the sun, deeper meanings need to be explored as they could indicate transition periods.

7. The Moon

Another potent dream symbol, to see the moon in your dream indicates your shadow aspect, the hidden, unseen, highly intuitive and creative side of you that is urging you to trust your gut and follow your instincts. The moon is most often associated with feminine energy and its influence on your consciousness.

6. Road

A symbol of life’s journey, the road in your dream is a clear sign of where you are in your waking state. If you meet a fork in the road an important decision lies ahead, if the road is bumpy or curvy expect minor set backs on the goals you are looking to achieve. If the road is darkened it denotes, unfavourable choices that you have made and are cautiously moving your way through.

5. Flying

A flying dream is classified as a lucid dream and is a wake up call from your unconscious to your conscious mind. Flying denotes difficulties in your waking state that you are trying to rise above, but a proving easier said than done. It is important to research and realize all aspects of your flying dream including how high, how far, what you saw and who saw you in order to grasp what the unconscious is conveying.

4. Ladder

Dreaming of a ladder generally indicates good luck. If you are climbing up a ladder, you are in a favourable position of advancement spiritually or material wise and you have done the necessary work to achieve what goals you are seeking to attain. However, if you fall off a ladder this indicates your efforts will be all for nothing. If you dream of a ladder breaking it indicates that troubles are coming your way.

3. Box

Dreaming of a box indicates things that are being hidden from your conscious. An empty box indicates disappointments and means that there is nothing for you on this path. To see many boxes indicates feelings that you are trying to hide away, to “box them up” and not deal with them.

2. Sirens

Hearing a siren ringing in your dreams indicates a very crucial aspect in your life that you are overlooking. Sirens are a warning cry from your unconscious, meant to get your attention. Be on guard for temptations in your life that will not serve your higher good.

1.Phone Ringing

A phone ringing indicates an aspect of your personality that it finally getting through to you. Something in your life needs attention and you are becoming more insightful in terms of realizing what this is. A situation may be more clear to you now than it was before. This front that we put up, is what we call a false mask, a facade or the surface layer of the ego and its hope? To protect the individual from coming to terms with unresolved emotions, hidden hurts and real and true introspection.

Once this mask is cracked however, it leaves nothing but these wounds to heal. Yet, each time the mask is cracked, our tendency is to plaster over it with a new layer.

Layer after cracked layer we build upon, hiding the hurts we have endured and while we continue to add these new layers: you can’t build a strong foundation on something that is already broken.

Emotional wounds are alike to these masks as well as that of a peeling of an onion and when we begin to peel them back, we get closer and closer to the root of what needs to be healed and nearer to the real authentic person that has been hidden away.

This authentic you, is the inner child that is crying out for resolve, love, comfort and softness. This child needs you to face your deepest fears; the “monsters under your bed”, your demons and your darkest desires and take him by the hand and tell him that everything is going to be o.k.

This child in you needs to feel safe, secure and accepted. It is then, in this space of security will you find strength, security, humility, acceptance and above all love. The love that you have been searching for out there in the world, the love that has been inside of you for eternity.

love yourselfThe love that is yours to give to yourself and then share with the world, for love cannot be attained by seeking outward. True love is found only within and is shared with others. To search outside of yourself looking for love, you will only find attachment and need. You must love yourself first.

So what makes someone authentically strong and confident from the inside out?

They have done their inner work, faced their “demons” and incorporated their shadow side. Quite simply, they have faced their deepest fears; their darkest desires and rebuilt themselves from the inside out into a state of acceptance, humility and love.

1. Take Responsibility

“Everyone has a chapter that they don’t read out loud”. Reflect on those chapters and take responsibility for your role. This doesn’t mean that you should feel guilty or have regrets. Let’s be straight about it, we all can be pretty selfish and life is a learning curve. Don’t sweat it.

2. Learn To Accept Yourself

The largest part of building inner strength is to make peace with your own identity.

We all make mistakes, we are all the same, we are all human. There is no one on earth who better than anyone else and there is no one on earth who is lesser. What separates the strong from the weak, the good from the bad and the ugly, is acceptance.

In order to love yourself, you must accept yourself and in order to love others you must love yourself first. Those who are loved by many, love themselves, and those who are hated by many, hate
themselves. Life is a reflection of who you are inside, what are you showing to the world?

3. Have Humility

Guilt and regret are the major obstacles we will face on the road to inner strength and acceptance. While sometimes it may be blowingeasy for others to forgive you, we often find that we are unable to forgive ourselves.

We as we know, are our own worst critics and unknowingly keep ourselves locked in the cages of our own thoughts; beating ourselves up any chance we get, as if we enjoy the suffering.

When was the last time you laughed at yourself for something? Do that right now and let it go. Life shouldn’t be taken so seriously, the universe is playful, so should we.

This Child Genius Seems to Have Developed the Ability to Communicate Telepathically

Young Ramses Sanguino seems to have a super intellect and rose to fame when a video of him guessing numbers written on cards by his mother went viral.  Already learning 7 or 8 languages at the age of five, his mother witnessed that he has always been extremely special.  “I knew even before he was born he was going to be someone special who would change the world,” she said. “Even when he was a baby he didn’t like toys, he just liked reading. He started reading when he was 12 months old and could even say words in English, Spanish, Greek, and some Japanese. When he was 18 months old he knew all the multiplication tables in English and Spanish and had learned the periodic table and all the atomic numbers.”

She has no idea how he has learned all the things he has learned.  “I taught him some of the languages but I have no idea how he learned parts of Hindi, Arabic, or Hebrew by the time he was three. It may have been through the computer that is often left on.”

Another explanation is telepathy.  At first, this may sound ridiculous, but the ability to read someone’s body movements to the point that you understand what they’re thinking; this seems to be possible.

Scientists were so interested in Ramses that they have begun to study his abilities.

One such scientist is renowned neuroscientist Dr. Diane Powell who has created a documentary of his behavior.  In one test, not shown in the video, he guessed 16 of 17 numbers that were hidden out of sight, including a double digit, looked at by his mother.

Powell hopes her public research will help her gain sponsorship to start a school for young, gifted autistic children to harness their abilities.

This Journalist Spent 4 Years Searching For India's Lost Subterranean Wonders

Victoria Lautman has spent four years exploring up to 120 sites and says her ‘smouldering obsession’ with the impressive and varied underground structures stems from their mystery, beauty and history.

‘They are fascinating on so many levels it’s hard to count. First and foremost, they are just so visually stunning – beautiful, grand, mysterious, and historically important while also being nearly unknown,’ Lautman told MailOnline.

Thousands of stepwells were built in India starting around the 2nd and 4th centuries A.D. where they first appeared as rudimentary trenches but slowly evolved into much more elaborate feats of engineering and art. By the 11th century some stepwells were commissioned by wealthy or powerful philanthropists (almost a fourth of whom were female) as monumental tributes that would last for eternity. Lautman shares with Arch Daily about the ingenious construction of the giant wells that plunge into the ground up to 10 stories deep:

“Construction of stepwells involved not just the sinking of a typical deep cylinder from which water could be hauled, but the careful placement of an adjacent, stone-lined “trench” that, once a long staircase and side ledges were embedded, allowed access to the ever-fluctuating water level which flowed through an opening in the well cylinder. In dry seasons, every step—which could number over a hundred—had to be negotiated to reach the bottom story. But during rainy seasons, a parallel function kicked in and the trench transformed into a large cistern, filling to capacity and submerging the steps sometimes to the surface. This ingenious system for water preservation continued for a millennium.”

Because of an increasing drop in India’s water table due to unregulated pumping, most of the wells have long since dried up and are now almost completely neglected. While some stepwells near areas of heavy tourism are well maintained, most are used as garbage dumping grounds and are overgrown with wildlife or caved in completely. Many have fallen completely off the map.

“Finding stuff, even with a map in India, is tough,” she says, of the difficulty of locating the ones that haven’t been researched.

“I usually ask drivers to ask locals because my Hindi is terrible. Then, you drive around in circles, sometimes for days, but eventually you’ll find a stepwell. Sometimes it’s unbelievably fantastic, sometimes you end up getting dropped off at a pit, with water in it.”
