Intuition… an unexplained feeling, often defined as gut feeling, a source of knowledge that can not be logically explained but you know it’s true. All of us are born with it. In fact according to Carl Jung, intuition is one of the four basic functions of the human brain. Intuition is a unique form of communication we have within ourselves and with ourselves.
When the subconscious mind passes information to the conscious mind for example, this is a form of inner communication that enables us to see and feel things differently and notice things we can not explain by logic. Once we channel into this special form of inner communication, or communication with our Higher Selves, we can benefit from it in many ways.
First and foremost, it helps us uncover hidden knowledge about ourselves, about other people around us and about places and situations. When we are truly in touch with our Higher Selves we have more self-protection and awareness. It helps us relax and live with less stress, less fear, less anxiety. It helps us make better decisions, make better choices, better plans. It keeps us in the present moment but gives us warnings or signs for the future. So how can we strengthen this natural ability and learn to live with it by being in an awaken state of mind?
It is not as hard you think and with a bit of practice, anyone can improve and strengthen their intuition. Here are 10 things you can do to improve your intuition.
Meditation helps us become more aware with our subconscious mind and clear our head from clutter. There are a lot of different types of meditation. For this one, practicing Mindfulness Meditation is the most beneficial. Its focus is to keep us in the present moment by making us pay closer attention to our bodies and our surroundings. It is a good way to learn to recognize our 5 senses. It teaches us to better handle our problems and opens doors to find solutions for these problems. It helps us also recognize the positive things about ourselves.
Engage in creative activities. Music, reading, writing, painting or any other hobby that enables us to use the left side of our brain, helps improve our intuition. Both hemispheres of our brains actually work together but, when we improve our creative skills we also improve our perception and recognition skills such as recognizing faces, emotions and little things that are easily missed by an ordinary eye. All of these are gifts we can use to improve our intuitive skills as well. Once we are aware of what the left side and the right side of the brain do to our thinking and feeling, we learn to tell the difference in a given situation if the information our subconscious is passing us is coming from left or the right side. Meaning, are we thinking or are we feeling a certain thing? With more practice, you can easily tell the difference between thinking and feeling.
Become comfortable with how you feel. When you have a gut feeling about something, someone or some place, listen to it. Analyze it. Figure out where this is coming from. Does it make you feel uncomfortable? Does it cause fear? Whatever it is, learn to face your fears and become comfortable with your feelings. Allowing fear dominate your mind will only cause blockage in your progress.
Trust your feelings. Learn to recognize your feelings as a different form of communication and information. For example do you get flash images about certain situations? Do not dismiss these flash images. They mean something. Figuring out the message is your mission. Pay attention to your initial feeling when you meet someone or when you go to a place. Each situation is full of signs and symbols. Nothing is coincidental. It only takes a trained mind’s eye to see and interpret these signs and symbols. In order to achieve this you have to learn to trust your feelings.
Spend more time in nature. Nature is a gateway to our Higher Selves. It has a unique way of grounding us and making us feel complete, at ease and relaxed. All these things are necessary to get in touch with our intuitive side.
Listen to your body. Our bodies give us many signs. Not just feelings but we feel physical symptoms as well when something does not feel right. Or the complete opposite, we see improvements in our physical conditions when something is going right. Listen to what your body is telling you. For this, a Body Scan Meditation can be very helpful. By just allowing yourself 10 minutes at any time during the day, you can practice this special kind of meditation and get better at recognizing your physical symptoms and work towards eliminating them from your life.
Analyze people more often and pay attention to how you feel around them. It is not visible to an untrained eye, but each of us have an aura. The reason why we feel a certain way around certain people is their vibrations. We are all made from energy, just like everything else in the universe. Each frequency corresponds to a certain vibration that can be detected by certain colors. Even though we can’t really see it, we feel it. That’s why some people make us feel at home and relaxed right from the start and some people don’t. Trust your first judgement.
Pay attention to your dreams. Dreams are messages given to us by our subconscious mind. When we can’t notice certain things about ourselves and others, when we try to suppress certain feelings in our daily lives, our subconscious mind does not stop taking notes. It gives us messages and answers in our dreams. Take note of your dreams and try to figure out what they mean. Get a good dream interpretation dictionary but also instead of taking these interpretations literally, apply them to your own reality.
Learn to detach yourself from situations. If you want to be more in tune with your intuitive side, you need to learn how to become detached from situations and how they make you feel. It sort of sounds cold and perhaps selfish but think of it this way: In order to come to an objective conclusion, you need to let go of your fears, your subjectivity and your feelings. Perhaps you find yourself in a situation that reminds you of a past experience. If you dive into this new situation with the frame of mind and state of heart that past experience had put you in, you will be clouding your judgement and you won’t be able to see things clearly and objectively. This requires complete honesty with yourself and is not an easy thing to do sometimes. But with meditation, you can certainly make faster progress.
Keep a journal of events. Take notes every time you notice and feel something and watch the progress and see if you were right or wrong with your guess or your gut feeling. When you find out you were wrong, try to analyze if maybe you were not paying attention to your feelings but instead you were acting upon your thinking. A journal will help you see the details you would otherwise forget in time. It is a great tool to learn from your experiences and strengthen your intuition.

“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want, and you can’t help but get that reality” – Albert Einstein
Since mainstream science has adapted the probable existence of parallel realities, the focus of many, has become the power of conscious thought by way of setting our intention to create the reality we desire.
Karma has a meaning, a purpose and that purpose is to bring everything in the state of love. Everything that is Karma is geared toward creating perfect harmony. The law of love says, “If you go out of your way to express unconditional love, you automatically rise above fear, and, as you transcend your fears, you automatically open to the expression of unconditional love.
The law of expansion
Everything in the universe is energy, so the universe is always expanding from lower to higher vibrational states. The growth is unavoidable because energy is always expanding. Growth requires chaos then reorganization and that goes for us too. This law says that we too should always be expanding.
The law of balance
The point of learning lessons is to achieve balance. Of course, it’s all about yin and yang . Everything in the universe is in balance. “What you bring hate to, you reincarnate to” is how balance is achieved. Every failure is an opportunity for success, and every success leads us to future failures.
The law of cause and effect
The law of cause and effect states that:
Every effect has a specific and predictable cause.
Every cause or action has a specific and predictable effect.
This means that everything that we currently have (or what will have) in our lives is an effect that is a result of a specific cause. Consciously acting from loving kindness to yourself and others instantly reweaves the present and future karmic agreements into greater pathways of empowerment and development.
The law of connection
This is the law that connects each step you do to the next and the next step so that you can reap the effects of the outcome. This means that the first step you made to connect to what your soul is asking for, to the present step, and to the last step, they all become equally important to the fruition of each connection. The past, present and future are all connected in the eventual manifestation of your desires.
The law of neutrality
Karma cares about everyone not only about you. It doesn’t pick favorites and it will dole out what it doles out equally among all. The universe is neutral: there are no favorite ones, there are no cursed ones, everything
This video includes some of the best insights from great minds like Russell Brand, David Lynch, Masaru Emoto and John Hagelin, who lead you down the rabbit hole, as you embark on a journey of self exploration, expanded consciousness and unity consciousness.
When you watch this you will understand how we are literally all connected to each other and will know without a shadow of a doubt that our thoughts do indeed create our reality. Get ready to have your mind blown!
Yes. It is true. The story I am about to tell you will be probably one of THE BEST short stories you’ll read in your life I have no doubt about that.
Also, this story will blow your mind to a whole new level, it will ascend your thinking and you will never think of life in the same way again. How I know this?
I’ll let you read it right now and you let me know if I’m wrong, ok?
YOU HAVE DIED.
You were on your way home when you died.
It was a car accident, nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me.
And that’s when you met me.
“What.. What happened?” You asked. “Where am I?”
“You died” I said, matter-of-factly. No point in mincing words.
“There was a.. a truck and it was skidding…”
“Yup.” I said.
“I.. I died?”
“Yup, but don’t feel bad about it. Everyone dies.” I said.
You looked around. There was nothingness. Just you and me. “What is this place?” You asked. “Is this the afterlife?”
“More or less.” I said.
“Are you God?” You asked.
“Yup.” I replied. “I am God.”
“My kids.. my wife,” You said.
“What about them?”
“Will they be alright?”
“That’s what I like to see,” I said. “..you just died and your main concern is your family. That’s good stuff right there.”
YOU LOOKED AT ME WITH FASCINATION.
To you I didn’t look like God. I just looked like some man or possibly a woman. Some vague authority figure, maybe. More of a grammar school teacher than the almighty.
“Don’t worry.” I said. “They’ll be fine. Your kids will remember you as perfect in every way. They didn’t have time to grow contempt for you. Your wife will cry on the outside, but be secretly relieved. To be fair, your marriage was falling apart. If it’s any consolation, she’ll feel very guilty for feeling relieved.”
“Oh,” You said. “.. so what happens now? Do I go to heaven or hell or something?”
“Neither.” I said. “You’ll be reincarnated.”
“Ah,” You said. “.. So the Hindus were right.”
“All religions are right in their own way,” I said. “.. walk with me.”
YOU FOLLOWED ALONG AS WE STRODE THROUGH THE VOID.
“Where are we going?”
“Nowhere in particular,” I said. “.. It’s just nice to walk while we talk.”
“So what’s the point, then?” You asked. “When I get reborn, I’ll just be a blank slate, right? A baby. So all my experiences and everything I did in this life won’t matter.”
“Not so!” I said. “You have within you all the knowledge and experiences of all past lives. You just don’t remember them right now.”
I stopped walking and took you by the shoulders.
“Your soul is more magnificent, beautiful, and gigantic than you can possibly imagine. A human mind can only contain a tiny fraction of what you are. It’s like sticking your finger in a glass of water to see if it’s hot or cold. You put a tiny part of yourself into the vessel, and when you bring it back out, you’ve gained all the experiences it had.”
“You’ve been in a human for the last 48 years, so you haven’t stretched out yet and felt the rest of your immense consciousness. If we hung out here for a long enough, you’d start remembering everything. But there’s no point to doing that between each life.”
“How many times have I been reincarnated, then?”
“Oh lots. Lots and lots. An in to lots of different lives.” I said. “This time around, you’ll be a Chinese peasant girl in 540 AD.”
“Wait, what?” You stammered. “You’re sending me back in time?”
“Well, I guess technically. Time, as you know it, only exists in your Universe. Things are different where I come from.”
“Where you come from?” You said.
“Oh sure,” I explained. “.. I come from somewhere. Somewhere else. And there are others like me. I know you’ll want to know what it’s like there, but honestly you wouldn’t understand.”
“Oh,” you said, a little let down. “.. but wait. If I get reincarnated to other places in time, I could have interacted with myself at some point.”
“Sure. Happens all the time. And with both lives only aware of their own lifespan you don’t even know it’s happening.”
“So what’s the point of it all?”
“Seriously?” I asked. “Seriously? You are asking me for the meaning of life? Isn’t that a little stereotypical?”
“Well it’s a reasonable question,” You persisted.
I LOOKED YOU IN THE EYE.
“The meaning of life, the reason I made this Whole Universe, is for YOU to mature.”
“You mean mankind? You want us to mature?”
“No, just YOU. I made this Whole Universe for YOU. With each new life YOU grow and mature and become a larger and greater intellect.”
“Just me? What about everyone else?”
“There is no one else,” I said. “.. in This Universe, there’s just YOU and ME.”
You stared blankly at me. “But all the people on Earth…”
“All you. Different incarnations of YOU.”
“Wait. I’m everyone!?”
“Now you’re getting it,” I said, with a congratulatory slap on the back.
“I’m every human being who ever lived?”
“Or who will ever live, yes.”
“I’m Abraham Lincoln?”
“I’m Hitler?” You said, appalled.
“And you are the millions he killed.”
“And you’re everyone who followed him.”
You fell silent.
“Every time you victimized someone,” I said, “.. You were victimizing yourself. Every act of kindness you’ve done, you’ve done to yourself. Every happy and sad moment ever experienced by any human was, or will be, experienced by YOU.”
YOU THOUGHT FOR A LONG TIME.
“Why?” You asked me. “Why do all this?”
“Because someday, YOU will become like me. Because that’s what you are. You’re one of my kind. You’re my child.”
“Whoa,” you said, incredulous. “You mean I’m a god?”
“No. Not yet. You’re a fetus. You’re still growing. Once you’ve lived every human life throughout all time, you will have grown enough to be born.”
“So the Whole Universe,” You said, “.. it’s just…”
“An egg.” I answered. “Now it’s time for you to move on to your next life.”
And I sent you on your way.
By: Andy Weir
The feeling you feel right now like you are levitating over yourself that’s your mind being blown. Elevated. You’ve Ascended to a whole new level.
I wish you have a mirror right now to see your face ?
And yes, it is inevitable to think about this when you meet someone else.
You will start questioning yourself “Can my mother, or my brother, my kid, my wife, my best friend, all be me?” You’ll think of this when you talk with them
You’ll start questioning even more, “Can this sexy waitress, or Leonardo DiCaprio, or Ghandi, all those terrorists, politicians, soldiers who died in wars, my boss.. could all of them be really ME?”
But that’s ok.
Question. Question everything and everyone.
Start seeing The Universe through this prism. Start seeing The World and everyone in it with this eye.
Imagine if we all saw each other like this. As one.
So what if this is just a story, it’s the story we believe in that matters. And maybe it’s time to change the story and accept new one. A story which will make The World a better place.
It’s not which story is true. ALL OF THEM ARE.
It’s which story makes YOU a better person. A GOD.
P.S. The story is from Andy Weir but when I think about it, YOU wrote this text for yourself.
I knew that I always liked this quote, without really knowing why. To be honest, for the longest time I never really understood what it meant. Then, everything changed.
1. Discovering the Light
In Daosim, it is believed that the journey to enlightenment starts by turning the eyes inside out and there is an african proverb that states “when there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot touch you”. As we have all learned by now, the way that view the world around us, is a projection of our inner world, and so our quest for happiness, enlightenment and satisfaction lies primarily upon filling our selves with light and love in order to then radiate it into the world.
Sadly however, as a defence mechanism, we seek to avoid the inner work of illuminating the shadows in our minds and neglect doing what is necessary, to reach an enlightened state. New age spirituality for instance, relies too heavily on focusing on the love and light aspect; when we seek out, search for, or try to attain this light we are essentially chasing our own tails. That is what Rumi is portraying when he makes this statement. We become like dogs and cats spinning around in circles, all the while missing the point. Rumi, I feel had a very good sense of humour.
The point being, we are the light because we are awareness and when we can increase our awareness, we expand our consciousness. That is, we make the unseen-seen and bring unconscious thought forward into a consciously understandable level.
You see, awareness is like a field of energy, “awareness is in your whole being, awareness of itself is like a light inside, do not imagine in as the sort of light you see, light and awareness is one of the same thing” – Mai Agate Valjataga.
2.Reconnecting to Unity Consciousness
All is one. We are all one. We are all connected and every man and woman is your brother and your sister. This isn’t religious, this is science.
While there are many interpretations of unity consciousness, and many perceptions to be had. Today I will give you a glimpse of mine own. I am not asking that you believe it, I am not telling you to take it as the “gospel”. What I am going to tell is that this is my perception. This is what I saw when I found the light, when I projected out of my body and into the universe and this is what resonates with me.
The universe, is sexual. The universe is playful. The universe is God. My physical body is the projection of my creator because I am just a cell in its body. I see that the planets are also cells, and we are cells within those same cells. My aura is my protoplasm and my body is the nucleus. The entire universe is creation at all moments, cell multiplication and death. I see the big bang as the moment the sperm entered the egg. I see the milky way as the semen of the gods, and I see that I am a universe. Because I am capable of creating life, and I am part of creation, I am also a god. When we create life we are creating a universe of cells, with their own unique consciousness, no matter how small.
I see that my soul is a spark in the night sky, a star, and when I leave my physical body and ascend into the heavens, I will shine bright for all to see. You and me.
“Every human being knows everything as all that is needed to know is contained in the memory of their cells and the zero point quantum field. The only problem is they have yet to discover how to read that field”- Mai Agate Valjataga,Kreet Rosin Excerpt from Your Every Feeling Creates You
3.The Immortal Foundation of the Soul
It was once believed, that a person cannot be truly considered a soul incarnate until it possesses pure and genuine compassion for others. I find this to be extremely poetic. Compassion, while it sounds like a simple and common word. It isn’t always easy to attain and uphold a higher perspective. To put your ego aside and elevate yourself to a level of understanding which sees every being as child. That is to say, we are all infants in the universe and to rise above and “take the high road” as they call it, takes an enlightened mind. A soul who has found the light within, and makes the conscious choice to be righteous in judgement, righteous in understanding and righteous love.
Righteousness, to me doesn’t me being right. It means showing love, compassion and understanding, no matter what you think is right.
Enlightenment is not a remote state of Consciousness that we need to achieve some time in the future, but it is the very heart of our nature. Enlightenment is our true, inner nature. Unfortunately, during our spiritual search, most of us have been alienated from it; so much so, that we have even forgotten about it. It is, however, permanently present in our life, but we simply disregard it. Our attention is always engaged by something, something that we need to deal with, so we very rarely take the trouble of looking into ourself.
Still, if we were able to concentrate our attention on ourselves, that brief moment of alert Consciousness would be enough for us to recognize that the alert Consciousness, free of emotions and thoughts is our true inner nature. In the state of alert Consciousness thoughts will no longer keep our attention in captivity, and we may experience silence. In the alert silence we recognize the following truths:
We experienced the nature of desires, the constant variability of the world of shapes and forms, where nothing is lasting, everything is dialectical, changeable. We is able to abandon its desires and ambitions.
We wake up from the hypnotic spell of our personal history. We no longer believe in what we have firmly regarded as our own personal history. This experience may lead us to the point of questioning the truth of what we believed to be true in connection with ourselves.
When we wake up from the sleep of personal identity we recognize that we are the free space of Consciousness. We are not identical with the shapes and forms appearing in this space, but we are the space itself, the space that enables the forms and shapes to appear and that keeps the forms and shapes alive.
Our internal development therefore does not only depend on our life experience; it depends much more on our ability to divert our attention from the outside world to our internal world. Are we able to turn away from the patterns of Mind, programmed by our Egos, and is there a deep desire to know the true answer to the question ”Who am I?”
Real self-control is not born in us out of suppression, but out of the recognition and understanding of the meaning of Life. That kind of self-control will liberate our Consciousness from the state of identification with the world of Shapes and Forms. It will create a space between us and the functions of the Mind, and in that space the ability of seeing and understanding will be born.
We are able to recognize the basically dual nature of existence, the fact that happiness is rooted in unhappiness, shall our inner freedom enable us to say yes with pleasure to the things that are happening to us.
At present, the program of our internal expectations have already been dissolved, and we no longer identify with our expectations of the other people.
We are now aware that oure sufferings are in fact our helpers and they may accelerate the process through which the Consciousness wakes up in the body we formerly and mistakenly considered our own
We shall readilyaccept anything and everything the moment brings to us, let it be joy or sorrow, because we will be fully aware that all these are parts of the same game.
Everything created for us by others is transitory, but what we create for ourselves will be lasting and permanent.
Everybody must find himself or herself what he or she is looking for.
Our whole life is a rush. We chase our desires and unfulfilled dreams. We are attracted by money, power, prestige, a wholesome, happy life. Spurred by our ambitions, we pursue various goals all through our lives. We aspire for something all the time, we always want to achieve something. This restless rush is instigated by our fear that we are still not what we want to be. We are never satisfied, we always want something else. We therefore lose our grip on thedeeper dimensions of life. The deeper dimensions are present in our life, but we lose contact with them because of our lack of Alertness. The question therefore arises, how we are able to access the deeper dimensions of Life?
12 Keys to access the Deeper Dimensions of Life
You are an immortal being, who is lost in the world of isolation, and is now desperately searching for Itself.
With your mind full of thoughts, you will never find the Truth, because it can only reveal itself in the silent space of the Heart.
Step over the categorizing, analyzing working methods of your mind and let the richness of your genuine self to blossom inside you.
If the mind is calm and peaceful, it has no fear, envy or sorrow, then a flow would carry it onwards, that has no beginning nor end: the flow of Life.
You can only experience the flow of Life inside and around you in the state of awakened consciousness.
Awake from the stupor of the identification of your thoughts and desires, and then in the motionless space of Consciousness the insane, forever changing world will be tamed into a wonderful game.
The alertness is the door opening to our original life status, to the Oneness.
The alertness is a blazing fire inside you, which consumes the world of isolation around you.
Beware! The awakened consciousness is dangerous, because it can destroy your dreams of spiritual growth in a moment.
The first gift of your conscious alertness is when you discover, that instead of you, the deep-programs of your conditioned mind are living your life.
If you seek happiness outside of yourself, you only find momentary satisfaction. Happiness is the joy of Existence itself, the conscious presence.
The most alluring bloom of your proper inner being is gratefulness.
Psychoactive plants and hallucinogens have given us the opportunity to see life through different perspectives for thousands of years. Many of these plants, which can only be defined as gifts from nature, have unfortunately been declared illegal in many parts of the world due to the ignorance and intolerance of many governments. As the shift in consciousness is accelerating across the planet, more people are accepting the true power of psychedelics with unprecedented potential to treat cancers, addictions, psychological traumas, but most of all, to reorganize the brain and shift thought patterns. It is now imperative for human consciousness that we free psychedelics from scrutiny and demonization, so that we may all use these plants responsibly to facilitate a greater awareness of non-secular concepts that are changing our world.
Author’s caution:I preface this article with a few words of caution. Specifically, through my shamanistic practices around the world, I have experienced the effects of all of the psychedelics mentioned below. Each has its own use and effectively complements specific practices in shaman culture. They are not to be abused in any setting as many can lead to a temporary lack of awareness of body and reality itself. This effectivelyplaces the subject in harms way, especially without a support party present. Please use any psychedelic plant responsibly, never if you are under 19 years of age, and only under the supervision of those who have been trained or have experienced the benefits first-hand through education and guidance.Your support party should always be sober, of clear mind and somebody you trust.
– Do not ingest psychedelics with alcohol
– Do not ingest psychedelics without supervision of responsible adults
– Do not combine psychedelics without expert supervision
– Do not use psychedelics as recreational party drugs
– Do not use psychedelics if you are prone to drug-seeking behavior
– Do not use psychedelics as a form of escaping from reality
– Do not use around dangerous environments
– Do not use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding
– Do not use if ignoring responsibilities in life to chase a high
– Do not use if symptoms aggravate a present mental illness
– DO ingest the raw plant whenever possible rather than smoking
Most of the psychedelic scare stories ever published were generated by people pursuing their own political or financial agendas, or by people with fundamentalist morals who were afraid of losing their power. In the last century. more than 99% of all information intended to vilify psychedelics has been proven false.
The shift in consciousness that has taken over the planet will not enlighten every human being. Some are not meant to experience the shift and will pass on (sometimes when you least expect it). Others are already on board. For those in between (and even for those on board), psychedelics offer a unique window of opportunity “during the high” which is otherwise absent without it. There are so many wonderful elements of consciousness including specific gateways which psychedelics enter, that ego simply has no chance of competing out. Ego tries, but it rarely if ever succeeds. They open a portal of beauty and creativity so large, that you can step into it and enjoy it in a way that is rarely available to the humanity from any other substance on Earth. Only very deep meditative states can match what psychedelics offer, and each state is very different.
Many researchers have been interested in the idea that psychedelics facilitate communication across the brain and, more specifically, how the default-mode network in the brain, arguably science’s best biological correlate of the self, normally works to constrain this.
Two studies have found absolutely no link between psychedelic use and a wide suite of mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, psychosis, depression, anxiety disorders and suicide attempts. For example, people who have tried LSD or psilocybin have lower lifetime rates of suicidal thoughts and attempts.
“Psychedelics” are substances with the ability to expand human awareness beyond our normal modes of perception. Some may be the most amazing substances known to humanity, so potent that just 1/10,000th of a gram can send one on a journey beyond time and space, beyond life and death. Here the psychedelic voyager can unlock and experience the collective evolutionary consciousness of billions of years past and an infinite future.
They allow the user to transcend the body, the personality, and view of the mind from undreamed-of perspectives, experiencing supersensory and extrasensory perception, choose from an infinite variety of “realities,” which can permanently change our experience of life.
Worship involving psychedelic plants and their use in spiritual pursuits can be traced to the beginnings of recorded history. The major role these plants played in the formation of early religions has been documented by several historians.
“I think of going to the grave without having a psychedelic experience like going to the grave without ever having sex. It means that you never figured out what it is all about. The mystery is in the body and the way the body works itself into nature.”
— Terence McKenna
Each person’s mind and capacity for handling psychedelics is different.
Psychedelics are not for everybody. Although most psychedelic trips are experienced as beneficial, some people have had experiences that left them disturbed afterwards. The main reason for these negative experiences is lack of preparation, rather than anything inherent in the person or in the substance.
5 Powerful Psychedelics
Out of the following psychedelics, I have found Salvia and Ayahuasca to be the most powerful out of body experiences (that can be recalled), and Cannabis to be the most profound to alter daily thinking patterns when taken consistently and with the aid of meditation.
**** CANNABIS ****
Perhaps one of the most medicinal but least powerful of all hallucinogens,Cannabis Sativa whose active ingredient is THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) has also been referred to as marijuana, dope, pot, bush, weed, hash, ganja, joint, among others. It is by far one of the safest psychedelics on Earth, and perhaps one of the few that can be utilized without supervision.
It can treat a number of diseases and disorders, including cancer, fibromyalgia, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis better than pharmaceuticals. Marijuana has also been found to reduce blood pressure, treat glaucoma, alleviate pain and even inhibit HIV. It is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective.
When cannabis is used over a period of time, it allows us to witness our many subtle motives which, under normal consciousness, are usually not noticeable. Duality within human consciousness becomes clear as does the ego and alter ego. Cannabis highs last typically from 1-4 hours.
There are two states of awareness which relate to these sensory effects. The basic one can be called pure awareness. In this state the person is completely and vividly aware of his experience, but there are no processes of thinking, manipulating, or interpreting going on. The sensations fill the person’s attention, which is passive but absorbed in what is occurring, which is usually experienced as intense and immediate. Pure awareness is experiencing without associations to what is there.
The other state of awareness is one which can be termed conscious awareness, in which the sensory experience is connected to meanings, plans, functions, decisions, and possible actions. This is our normal way of perceiving and how we usually go about our daily lives. We do not sense the world directly, but with the incorporation of our memories, meanings, and uses. In the state of pure awareness objects are experienced as sensory qualities, without the intrusion of interpretation. There are examples of this in normal life. The sensation of sexual orgasm may be (and hopefully is) experienced with pure awareness. Natural beauty, such as flowers, mountains, oceans, and sunsets, is sometimes experienced from a point of awareness without adding conscious thinking.
With this expansiveness which occurs after ingesting cannabis, users may begin to notice infinite possibilities to raise the quality of his/her life that would otherwise have remained hidden from normal, defensive consciousness. And feelings of health and happiness naturally lead to hope, which of itself can be curative.
For a person using marijuana for the first few times, sensory changes occur sequentially, rather than all at once. First they may notice increased brightness and clarity of colors, then sounds, then visual structures, such as paintings or designs. (Two dimensional photographs and motion pictures may be seen in three dimensions on the high, a perception which can be transferred to the normal state under certain conditions.) Then proprioceptive sensations may present themselves. Any order of the effects may occur during one high state or several. Often effects will develop to particular levels and then stabilize without further elaboration.
Cannabis can act as the loosening agent, so that whatever has been banned from consciousness may come cascading forth. To uncover our deceptions without our usual rationalizations can be unpleasant, an experience that has turned many psychologically fragile individuals away from marijuana despite its therapeutic catharsis.
Intensity of sensory experience seems related to the total proportion or amount of attention which is involved in the process. If attention is used in conscious or unconscious processes in making decisions, remembering, evaluating, etc., then this much is removed from the awareness of the sense experience. Thus it may be that one of the causes of sensory enhancement under cannabis is that attention energy moves from consciousness processes into awareness processes, which amplifies the experience.
Cannabis’ contribution to the developing spirit is cumulative. As bodily tensions are reduced mental fears dissolve, clearing the way to greater insight. People who try cannabis and reject it do so usually because they feel uncomfortable and confused in altered, fuller consciousness. Instead of life being safely framed by the rigidity of the societal dogma, the world becomes unfamiliarly bigger, brighter, fuller, yet less manageable, more unpredictable and full of mystery. A mind that has been bound and accustomed to a low charge or a selling without light very often finds the expansiveness of reality too highly energized. The light can be blinding and disorienting. Over time, and with regular intake, when these higher states of seeing are no longer the focal point of attention, a restructuring of values may emerge.
**** SALVIA ****
Given the right dose, individual, set and setting, Salvia Divinorumproduces a unique state of ‘divine inebriation’ which has been traditionally used by Mazatec healers. It is the most powerful natural psychedelic legally available and capable of profound out-of-body experiences just by simply chewing its leaves. Users should observe all cautions with Salvia including appropriate sitters, safe environments and education before ingestion. Its effects can be traumatic for those who are unprepared.
Salvia divinorum is both similar to, and different from, other drugs that affect the brain and behavior. In many ways Salvia divinorum is a unique ‘magical’ herb. Salvia (and the salvinorin it contains) is very difficult to categorize pharmacologically. It does not fit well into any existing pharmacological class. A very small and almost insignificant amount of salvinorin can immediately propel the user into an out of body experience. Once the appropriate concentration of salvinorin is met, it takes only seconds before the user is unable to verbally respond to a sitter, and thus important that all dangerous objects and physical obstacles be removed in the user’s space. Most users who are exposed to large doses have only slight recall on what transpired in reality for up to 15 minutes after the dose.
Most reports describe the use of this plant by Mazatec shamans, and although it is just barely touched upon in the anthropological literature, it is also reportedly used by their immediately contiguous neighbors, the Cuicatecs and Chinatecs. Given that the plant is quite easily propagated, it is surprising that such an extraordinary herb is only known of in such a geographically limited area. It seems quite probable that it would have found its way to other neighboring tribes through sharing and trade.
With a moderately strong dose of Salvia, consciousness remains and some thought processes are still lucid, but one becomes completely involved in inner experience and loses all contact with consensual reality. Sometimes voices may be heard. With eyes open contact with consensual reality will not be entirely lost, but when you close your eyes you may forget about consensus reality and enter completely into a dreamlike scene. Shamanistic journeying to other lands, foreign or imaginary; encounters with beings, entities, spirits; or travels to other ages may occur. You may even live the life of another person. At this level you have entered the shaman’s world.
Individuality may be lost; one experiences merging with God/dess, mind, universal consciousness, or bizarre fusions with other objects real or imagined, e.g. merging with a wall may be experienced. At this level it is impossible to function in consensual reality, but unfortunately some people do not remain still but move around in this befuddled state. For this reason a sitter is essential to ensure the safety of someone voyaging to the inner levels. To the person experiencing this, the phenomenon may be terrifying or exceedingly pleasant; but to an outside observer the individual may appear confused or disoriented.
The dose can be well moderated by using an extract and users can enjoy a variety of intensities by simple sublingual application.
What is especially important during a Salvia trip is to not talk to the user unless it is requested and preferably shutdown all electronic devices including television, phone and music as they can create disruptions during the experience. Salvia is not a party drug and requires a responsible support person or group by the user’s side at all times.
What is interesting is that a surprisingly large proportion of salvia users report a type of afterglow which persists. It typically involves mood elevation, an overall sense of well being, and often a fresh outlook on life which can linger for several days (or longer) after the experience. This phenomenon seems to be quite common. For many mood elevation can last between one and three days.
**** PSILOCYBIN (MAGIC MUSHROOMS) ****
Ingesting these types of mushrooms has a strong hallucinogenic effect that begins to affect the user within 20-30 minutes. Early effects of the active ingredients in mushrooms, psilocybin, psilocin, and baeocystin, are broken down into psilocin once they have been taken. The initial feelings are described as mild anxiety or anticipatory sensations. Entire physical body sensation of energy or mild electricity running through the body is common.
Hallucinogenic mushrooms have been part of human culture as far back as the earliest recorded history. Ancient paintings of mushroom-ed humanoids have been found in caves in the Saharan desert. Central and Southern America cultures built temples to mushroom gods and carved “mushroom stones”. These stone carvings in the shape of mushrooms, or in which figures are depicted under the cap of a mushroom, have been dated to as early as 1000-500 B.C. The purpose of the sculptures is not certain, but these stones may have been religious objects.
The effects leave users in a high state of euphoria. They are mood enhancing, general happiness, insightful ideas and sense of creative energy.
In mathematical terms, normal brains have a well-ordered correlation state. There’s not much cross-linking between networks. That changes after the psilocybin dose. Suddenly the networks are cross-linking like crazy, but not in random ways. New types of order emerge.
“We can speculate on the implications of such an organization,” wrote researchers, who were led by neurobiologist Paul Expert of King’s College London. “One possible by-product of this greater communication across the whole brain is the phenomenon of synaesthesia” common during psychedelic experiences, of sensory mix-up: tasting colors, feeling sounds, seeing smells, and so on.
While the psychedelic state has been previously compared with dreaming, the opposite effect has been observed in the brain network from which we get our sense of “self” (called the default-mode network or ego-system). Put simply, while activity became “louder” in the emotion system, it became more disjointed and so “quieter” in the ego system. The first study, published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences in 2012, revealed decreases in brain activity after injection of psilocybin that were localized to the default-mode network.
This finding was exciting because it synched with the idea that psychedelics cause temporary “ego dissolution”, in other words diminishing one’s sense of having a firm and enduring personality. New research adds to our understanding about how this happens.
A study that examined brain scans of people under the influence of psilocybin found that it reduces activity in certain areas of the brain. That reduction of activity leads to the drug’s effect on cognition and memory. Psychedelics, and psilocybin in particular, might actually be eliminating what could be called the extra “noise” in the brain.
Psychiatry professor Matthew Johnson, who works at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, presented the preliminary results of a pilot feasibility study looking at the ability of psilocybin to treat smoking addiction at the 2013 Psychedelic Science conference in Oakland, Calif. For the study, five cigarette-addicted participants underwent placebo-controlled psilocybin treatment with a psychiatrist. All five completely quit smoking after their first psilocybin session. At all followup visits, which occurred up to one year later for the first four participants, it was biologically confirmed that the participants had abstained from cigarettes.
It should be noted that like all ‘major’ hallucinogens, psilocybin can precipitate psychotic episodes and uncover or aggravate previous mental illness. If you’re stressed out or depressed, don’t take mushrooms; if you have schizophrenia, DO NOT take mushrooms.
For exhaustingly exhaustive and thoroughly technical descriptions of most Psilocybes, the reader is referred to Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World by Paul Stamets, Singer & Smith: Mycologia 58, 263-303 and H0iland: Norw J Botany 25(2), 111-122.
**** AYAHUASCA ****
Ayahuasca is a brew prepared with the Banisteriopsis caapi vine, originally used for spiritual and healing purposes in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. Peru’s government claimed that consumption of the “teacher” or “wisdom plant “constitutes the gateway to the spiritual world and its secrets, which is why traditional Amazon medicine has been structured around the ayahuasca ritual”
Though scientific evidence of the clinical benefits of ayahuasca is limited, advocates say it has become increasingly popular as a tool to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and addictions.
“Most people seek ayahuasca with good intentions – they are not thrill-seeking but are curious, serious – or have specific issues such as depression,” says botanist Prof Dennis McKenna, from the University of Minnesota.
The vine is usually mixed with leaves containing the psychedelic compound DMT (diemethyltryptamine). It causes hallucinogenic experiences, and is made up of a chemical compound that already occurs within the human body endogenously (as well as in a number of plants). This means our brains are naturally set up to process the compound because it has receptors that exist specifically to do so.
Some research based on near-death experiences points to the fact that the brain releases DMT during death. Some researchers have also conjectured that DMT is released during other intense experiences, including orgasm.
Gabor Mate, a medical doctor from Vancouver who is a prominent ayahuasca researcher, contends that therapy assisted by psychedelics, and ayahuasca in particular, can untangle complex, unconscious psychological stresses. He claims these stresses underlie and contribute to all chronic medical conditions, from cancer and addiction to depression and multiple sclerosis.
The results of the first North American observational study on the safety and long-term effectiveness of ayahuasca treatment for addiction and dependence were published in June 2013 in the journal Current Drug Abuse Reviews. All of the participants in the study reported positive and lasting changes, and the study found statistically significant improvements “for scales assessing hopefulness, empowerment, mindfulness, and quality of life meaning and outlook subscales. Self-reported alcohol, tobacco and cocaine use declined, although cannabis and opiate use did not.” The reported reductions in problematic cocaine use were also statistically significant.
LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) is a naturally occurring alkaloid extracted from the fungus Ergot which can grow on rye and other grains. It is among the most potent, mood changing chemicals. It is odorless, colorless, and has a slightly bitter taste. From a chemical perspective, LSD in its pure, unadulterated form, is relatively safe, and although it varies from person to person, it has no serious physiological effects.“Man-made” LSD or “street acid” on the other hand is manufactured with combinations of poisons (usually strychnine, a rat killer) and should beavoided at all costs. Unlike cannabis, LSD highs can last much longer–usually over six hours and in some cases more than twelve hours on different “street acids” which can be problematic for those experiencing “bad trips.”
Note that the extraction of LSD from Ergot is complex and requires skills that are well-versed in chemistry (do not initiate your own experiments).
LSD is known to cause changes in consciousness, including “ego-dissolution,” or a loss of the sense of self. Despite a detailed knowledge of the action of LSD at specific serotonin receptors, it has not been understood how these pharmacological effects can translate into such a profound effect on consciousness.
It is capable of producing a full range of low and high level hallucinatory states in a fashion that is significantly less consistent and reproducible than that of many other commonly used psychedelics.
Although LSD is technically capable of producing hallucinatory states in a fashion that is on par with other powerful psychelics, including vividness and intensity, these effects are extremely rare and inconsistent in comparison. This lack of consistently induced hallucinatory breakthroughs means that for most, LSD is simply not as deep of an experience as certain other psychedelics. On the rare occasion that they are induced however, they can be comprehensively described in terms of their variations as lucid in believability, interactive in style, new experiences in content, autonomous in controllability and geometry-based in appearance.
The Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease published results from thefirst study of LSD’s therapeutic potential in humans to appear in more than four decades. The controlled, double-blind study, which was conducted in Switzerland under the direction of Swiss psychiatrist Peter Gasser, measured the impact of LSD-assisted psychotherapy on 12 people with life-threatening diseases (mainly terminal cancer). “The study was a success in the sense that we did not have any noteworthy adverse effects,” Gasser says. “All participants reported a personal benefit from the treatment, and the effects were stable over time.”
LSD reduces connectivity within brain networks, or the extent to which nerve cells or neurons within a network fire in synchrony. LSD also seems to reduce the extent to which separate brain networks remain distinct in their patterns or synchronization of firing. Overall, LSD interferes with the patterns of activation in the different brain networks that underlie human thought and behavior.
Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris and his colleagues at Imperial College London did sequential brain scans of 20 healthy volunteers over 6 hours, using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), which maps brain activity by detecting changes in blood flow, and magnetoencephalography (MEG), a technique that images brain function by recording magnetic fields produced by electrical currents occurring in the brain.
Dr. Carhart-Harris suggests that “with better assessment tools available today than in the 1950’s and 1960’s, it may be possible to evaluate potential uses of LSD as a treatment for addiction and other disorders, such as treatment-resistant depression “which we are currently investigating with a similar drug to LSD”. LSD also may provide a useful human model of psychosis, as it leads to changes in brain network behavior that shows overlap with the early phase of psychosis.
“I see the true importance of LSD in the possibility of providing material aid to meditation aimed at the mystical experience of a deeper, comprehensive reality. Such a use accords entirely with the essence and working character of LSD as a sacred drug.” Dr Albert Hofmann, the founder of LSD.
“… LSD is best understood as a powerful unspecific amplifier, or catalyst, of mental processes, which facilitates the emergence of unconscious material from different levels of the human psyche.”‘ Dr Stan Grof, Esalen Institute.Although I don’t recommend trying LSD without a trained professional guiding you through the process, if you are absolutely determined to ignore this advice, the following video gives sensible guidelines on how to prepare for and manage an LSD trip.
Most of us haven’t quite realized there is something extraordinary happening.
A few months ago I freed myself from standard-procedure society, I broke the chains of fear that kept me locked up into the system. Since then, I see the world from a different perspective: the one that everything is going through change and that most of us are unaware of that.
Why is the world-changing? In this post I’ll point out the 8 reasons that lead me to believe it.
1- No one can stand the employment model any longer
We are reaching our limits. People working with big corporations can’t stand their jobs. The lack of purpose knocks on your door as if it came from inside you like a yell of despair.
People want out. They want to drop everything. Take a look on how many people are willing to risk entrepreneurship, people leaving on sabbaticals, people with work-related depression, people in burnout.
2- The entrepreneurship model is also changing
Over the past few years, with the explosion of startups, thousands of entrepreneurs turned their garages in offices to bring their billion dollar ideas to life. The vortex of entrepreneurship was to find an investor and get funded. To be funded was like winning the World Cup, or the Super Bowl.
But what happens after you get funded?
You get back to being an employee. You may have brought in people not sharing your dream, not in agreement with your purpose and soon it’s all about the money. The financial end becomes the main driver of your business.
People are suffering with it. Excellent startups began to tumble because the money seeking model is endless.
A new way to endeavor is needed. Good people are doing it already.
3- The rise of collaboration
Many people have figured out that it doesn’t make any sense to go on by yourself. Many people have awakened from the “each man for himself” mad mentality.
Stop, take a step back and think. Isn’t it absurd that we, 7 billion of us living in the same planet, have grown further apart from each other? What sense does it make to turn your back on the thousands, maybe millions, of people living around you in the same city? Every time it crosses my mind, I feel blue.
Fortunately, things are changing. Sharing, collaborative economy concepts are being implemented, and it points towards a new direction. The direction of collaborating, of sharing, of helping, of togetherness.
This is beautiful to watch. It touches me.
4- We are finally figuring out what the internet is
The internet is an incredibly spectacular thing and only now, after so many years, we are understanding its power. With the internet the world is opened, the barriers fall, the separation ends, the togetherness starts, the collaboration explodes, the helping emerges.
Some nations saw true revolutions that used the internet as the primary catalyst, such as the Arab Spring. Here in Brazil we are just starting to make a better use out of this amazing tool.
Internet is taking down mass control. The big media groups controlling news by how it suits best what they want the message to be and what they want us to read are no longer the sole owners of information. You go after what you want. You bond to whomever you want. You explore whatever you may want to.
With the advent of the internet, the small is no longer speechless, there is a voice. The anonymous become acknowledged. The world comes together. And then the system may fall.
5- The fall of exaggerated consumerism
For too long, we’ve been manipulated to consume as much as we possibly can. To buy every new product launched, the newest car, the latest iPhone, the top brands, lots of clothes, shoes, lots and lots and lots of pretty much anything we could our hands on.
Going against the crowd, many people have understood that this of way off. Lowsumerism, slow life and slow food are a few excerpts of actions being taken as we speak, pointing out by contradiction how absurdly we have come to organize ourselves.
Fewer people are using cars, fewer people are overspending, and more people are swapping clothes, buying used goods, sharing assets, cars, apartments, offices.
We don’t need all of that they told us we needed. And this consciousness of new consumerism can take down any company living of the exaggerated end of it.
6- Healthy and organic eating
We were so crazy we even accepted eating anything! It only needed to taste good, and everything would be alright.
We were so disconnected that companies started to poison our food and we didn’t say anything!
But then some people started waking up, enabling and strengthening healthy and organic eating.
This is only to get stronger.
But what has this got to do with economy and work? Just about everything, I’d say.
Food production is one of the basic fundamentals of our society. If we change our mindset, our eating habit and our way of consuming, corporations will have to respond and adapt to a new market.
The small farmer is getting back to being relevant to the whole chain of production. Even people are growing plants and seeds inside their homes as well.
And that reshapes the whole economy.
7 — The awakening of spirituality
How many friends do you have who practice yoga? What about meditation? Now think back, 10 years ago, how many people did you know by then who practiced these activities?
Spirituality, for too long, was for esoteric folks, those weird-like and mystic people.
But fortunately, this is also changing. We’ve come to the edge of reason and rationality. We were able to realize that, with only our conscious mind, we can’t figure out everything that goes by here. There is something else going on and I’m sure you want to get hold of that as well.
You want to understand how these things work. How life operates, what happens after death, what is this energy thing people talk about so much, what is quantum physics, how thoughts can be materialized and create our sense of reality, what is coincidence and synchronicity, why meditation works, how it’s possible to cure using nothing but bare hands, how those alternative therapies not approved by regular medicine can actually work.
Companies are providing meditation to their employees. Even schools are teaching the young how to meditate. Think about it.
8 — Unschooling trends
Who created this teaching model? Who chose the classes you have to take? Who chose the lessons we learn in history classes? Why didn’t they teach us the truth about other ancient civilizations?
Why should kids follow a certain set of rules? Why should they watch everything in silence? Why should they wear a uniform? What about taking a test to prove that you actually learned?
We developed a model that perpetuates and replicates followers of the system. That breed people into ordinary human beings.
Fortunately, a lot of people are working to rethink that though concepts such as unschooling, hackschooling, homeschooling.
Maybe you’ve never thought of that and even may be in shock. But it’s happening.
Silently, people are being woken up and are realizing how crazy it is to live in this society.
Look at all these new actions and try to think everything is normal we were taught so far is normal. I don’t think it is.
There is something extraordinary happening.
About the Author
Gustavo Tanaka — Brazilian author and entrepreneur, trying to create with my friends a new model, a new system and maybe helping to create a new economy.
If you limit yourself to viewing corporate news outlets, you would never know humanity is becoming healthier, stronger, and more informed. Societal constraints bound by fear are losing their grip to rising optimism and the forces of evolution.
What coalesced as a paradigm shift in “entitled” Millennials is exploding as first-wave TransGenerationals (Generation Z) graduate high school. Looking out at the world as if they’ve seen it all before, the new attitude is, “I’m changing so fast, I dare you to try and define me.”
And they’re right. TransGens are asking themselves and each other “why” instead of parents and authority figures. Could we be witnessing a fractal leap in consciousness as we hit critical mass known as the 100thmonkey effect?
Up until even the final moments of 2015, there was a palpable tension in the air. Corporate news issued dire warning after warning to keep us in a global state of terror. Have you noticed that corporate media reports mostly on extremism rather than what’s occurring in the mainstream world?
That palpable tension was also felt by many as an underlying current that things are about to break loose—in a good way. Not only will you witness the coming explosion of consciousness, but you’re going to participate in it.
Why 2016 is the Year of Consciousness:
1) You are coming to know your worth. The Internet is a miraculous tool for allowing you to share what you’re good at and get immediate feedback. Creative people are taking this feedback, refining their expertise and message, and cashing in. Once bound miserably to jobs that brought no personal fulfillment, you are turning what you love to do into products and services for others who share your interests.
2) We’re having fun playing together. If you think electronics have further separated us, we’re coming back together in a whole new way. Go for a jog in your neighborhood and some kid might point his phone at you, asking you for a shout-out on his YouTube channel. Social causes are bridging the gap between those in need and those with more than enough. We’re discovering that cooperation is a whole lot more fun than competition.
3) You’re driving consumerism instead of consumerism driving you. In won’t be in the news, but many corporations are in a panic as they attempt to reinvent themselves to remain relevant. We’re no longer blind to how products are manufactured and where we get our food. We now care about the animals, and the ground left behind. We’re asking you to care, too.
4) It’s about stewardship, not ownership. In debt for thirty years on a house or seven years on a new car? How about massive student loans? No, thank you. Like the crew of Apollo 13, we’re scrambling to construct alternative solutions, letting our inventions serve as new markets. The business of life needs to be dynamic, fluid, and sustainable whether we’re going up or coming back down.
5) A new trickle-up economy is emerging. If competition yields a loser for every winner, it’s collaboration that creates trickle-up. You finally understand that if I win, you win—and vice versa. We’re funding each other and buying locally. We’ve found our voice; we’re voting with our feet and volunteering. It’s just plain fun taking good care of one another.
Emerging is the sovereign being, where one first turns within for answers and then to one another to collaborate. Our history books are filled with celebrated sovereign beings ahead of their time. Now it’s your turn.
When you know your true value, you can write your ticket to freedom. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “No one is free until we are all free.”
Astral projection may not be what you think it is. Common use of the words often get misinterpreted when discussing the events of out-of-body travel. But, there is a major difference between an astral projection and an out-of-body experience.
An out-of-body experience is an event known as a split in consciousness. Meaning that the viewer has achieved dual reality in both their physical presence as well as in a non physical body of conscious reality.
Common out-of-body experiences include hovering over ones own body, (looking at yourself while looking at yourself) as well as being in the same location in this plane of existence, but existing in two different conscious forms.
An astral projection on the other hand is a projection of consciousness that elevates the traveller to the astral plane, that is not locally found in familiar or common places such as your bedroom, home or office.
When travelling the astral plane, you encounter dimensions of reality that are unfamiliar and unknown; these places, include planets in our own solar system, planets in other systems, as well as free travel alike travelling through space like a shooting star. The farther one travels, less and less beings the soul will encounter.
Other more common astral projections include unfamiliar planes of reality that resemble our current dimension and yet, are an alternate version of reality.
Through mine own conscious travels, I have experienced both local travel where I could look back at the earth from above, as well as non local travel where it felt as if my soul broke the speed of light and arrived to a place unknown. Many of times have I travelled far and near, learning these planes of reality and still I find that my soul yearns deeper for knowledge, from each of these experiences.
Ones first out-of-body experience, followed by an astral travel will open the mind and illuminate the senses leaving the seeker ever thirsting for knowledge and understanding. It is an experience that everyone must have at least once and when you do, you’ll be hooked too.
Astral projection and out-of-body experiences are most easily achieved when we are in a state of relaxation. This is why most travellers find that their projections take place either early in the morning or late in the evening. And so, if you are looking to achieve this, it’s best to try when you are completely relaxed.
Here’s how to do it.
1.Consciously Control Your Dream
Take full advantage of the moment in the morning when you are first waking up. When you realize you are waking, before opening your eyes and allowing your consciousness to fully return to your physical body, stay in limbo. Draw upon what you were just dreaming about and reprocess it in your mind. It is also advantageous to set an alarm for yourself and wake mid-night– 3-4:00 am, especially as our dream state is most active in deep sleep.
Do this as often as you can and this will train the brain in preparation for splitting your consciousness into an out-of-body experience or astral projection.
2. Set Your Focus
When we imagine different scenarios in our minds, whether it is a worry or a fantasy, we transmit a brain wave frequency. This frequency has been monitored using EEG technology and each wave we send out, holds it own frequency vibration. Now, depending upon the potency of the thought and by whether it is positive or negative. (Positive thoughts hold a higher vibration, as opposed to the negative.) it will create a ripple effect that can be viewed like a pulse or a sound wave, that is completely in line with the beat of your heart and transmits from your mind’s eye”.
When we align our hearts to our positive thought manifestation, it becomes the driving force and the manifestation point, that ignites all of the chakras in the body, catapulting the traveller beyond the out-of-body and into the astral plane.
3. Start The Wave
There are many techniques in order to loose the spirit from the body or split consciousness in order for free travel. My personal favourite is known as the earthquake of the mind, but today we will focus on the wave technique which is a little more subtle and will ease you in, first to an out-of-body experience before splitting off so intensely.
It is not well-practiced to immediately hit the astral realm, as psychosis can easily follow if not prepared for the journey. Taoists often warn about the dangers of extended and frequent astral travel and I can attest to this as well.
The wave technique has also worked well for me and feels like a dimension washing over you like water, the final step is to just take a deep breath, let go of fear and go under. 😉
Lie down in a comfortable position, in loose fitted, light clothing. Set your focus at the bottom of your feet and visualize raising your energy from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head. Feel it every step of the way.
If you lose your focus, start back at the bottom and continue to bring it up through your legs, into your knee caps– into your torso- into your heart, until finally it is at eye level. With each chakra point you reach, you must balance the chakra as the flow of energy reaches, it. You can achieve this by non-resistance to each emotion that arises as the energy moves through you.
When the energy reaches the heart, let go of this plane and everything in it, this will be a test of non attachment and it will make the difference between reaching astral travel or not.
Finally, take a nice deep breath and bring the energy into the throat chakra. Let go, allowing the energy wave to wash over you completely.
